It was, ASR is not a good match for everyone, not all kids will be accepted into their program.  Not all the kids do well either, some dont make it to graduation, but most move on and get back on track with their lives.
No I dont have any studies to present, Ha,Ha,Ha, but based on what I have read and the parents I know who had kids who were in the program, it seems to be a good assessment.

First off, no program is a match for anyone. And saying that they don't accept everyone is bullshit. If you flash the cash, they will torture your kid. No questions asked...

Q - TheWho wants an audience to justify his actions for sending away his daughter. His goal is to make everyone think ASR is the best thing since sliced bread. He also attempts to belittle the experiences of the students who attended HLA and what parents went through while there kids were enrolled there.

Our child was attacked by another student and nothing was done. Not even an apology. We were told our child had a possible eating disorder by Clay Erickson (HLA's addiction counselor who lost his medical license and is not a licensed addiction counselor in GA). We can't even imagine why we were told this was so - maybe so we'd feel we were getting my money's worth out of their program? Students who were considered suicidal had to sleep on the floor outside of the room - the term was "Fresh Air" - and they were truly suicidal. Why weren't they given the help they needed in a psychiatric facility? How many of these kids felt suicidal because their medications weren't properly dispensed? The list goes on and on - the crazy part is the few examples stated are just from the first couple of months of being at HLA.

Im sorry for what happened to your kid if its true. That would really suck if it was. I dont remember anything like that ever happening when I was there.

I think the thing people need to remember is that all of the kids there were there for a reason, and even if they dont see it now I think eventually theyll understand that they were better off for having gone to HLA.

Lots of kids there had learning differences and instead of helping them, they put them on academic restrictions all the time.  Makes no sense to punish kids for having learning difficulties. Constant negative reinforcements does not help children build healthy self esteem.

Yeh, what's the logic there? They were 'faking' their learning differences? Using them to 'manipulate'?
The goal, in my opinion, is not to foster healthy self-esteem, but to break the kids and render compliant little robots who learn to 'act' with respect. Those who don't break are tortured the worse.

You can see here one of the fundamental flaws of HLA.  Len was always changing the program.  People from just a few years apart all have different experiences.  Some went through the restrictions meal, some didn't.  Some went through the constant med problems, others can remember a time when alomost no one at HLA took meds.  Len continually moved the school away from it's original design.  He could never be happy with things the way they were and it ultimately hurt the school.

The favorite word at HLA is manipulate. They always tell you that your child is manipulating. The only people at HLA that manipulate are the HLA staff members. Some of the staff at HLA are nice people, however I do not think they realize that they are just the puppets being played by Bucci the Puppeteer.
