I really like the one where he looks like he's laying an egg while sitting on the pot (flag backdrop, directly overhead).  That gave me a good hard laugh!  If only he were so benign in real life...

This is the 80th birthday of a man who has become a caricature and a legend only in his own mind.  Forgive me, but I cannot celebrate a man who has been remarkably cruel and shaming, so arrogant and hypocritical.  I wish him no ill fate, but I cannot honor or celebrate him.  Joe Gauld has harmed many people terribly, along with those he may have helped.

When I think of Joe Gauld I feel awfully angry and sad.

I like the pic in the middle at the bottom.   He has that look, like he is about to unload on you.

I can't help but wonder whether Joe Gauld has a conscience.  How can a man who has spent years spouting rhetoric about integrity, conscience, humility and truth behave in such a chronically abhorrent, abusive, mean-spirited way toward many students and parents?  Does Joe really look in the mirror and feel proud of what he has done, or does he feel ashamed, remorseful and embarrassed?  If he feels nothing but pride, the man truly is a sociopath, a man without conscience.  This is not worth celebrating.

true story i got a good laugh over that pic...i gotta admit. he's a funny guy to watch during a meeting. there's def. a generation gap (or 2!), like when we had a meeting and he did the prisoner's dilemma and was saying, "now would you finger yourself? or would you finger the other guy?" the whole student body broke out laughing, not even the most ontrack senior could hold it in...haha that was 2 years ago...wow

Joe's using game theory to teach brother's keeper? It could be the ignoble start of a glorious career.

I imagine that the current Hyde staff are pretty embarrassed by Joe's antics.  Any idea how they deal with him these days?
