Argentina's Elan. Anyone recognize the tree?
« on: April 19, 2007, 05:38:00 PM »
This is scary.

Apparently a former Elan resident from Argentina started his own "Elan"

www.ibicuy.com

Kinda freaked me out seeing the Elan tree logo,.... and the house in the picture has some spooky Elan 3 aura.

If you dont read Spanish or Portuguese, you wont get far. but check it out.

WOW! That is some scary shit! BUT the dorms(in Argentina) do look nicer than the E-3's dorms. Women and men's. ALL of the dorms looked like shit in comparison to this counterfit Elan.
Big windows, pretty hard wood floors, floral comforters.
There were no windows in 3's womens dorms. They were covered by beds and the comforters were all faded and lumpy. Then there was a rule (that was rarely enforced) about cleaning the comforters 1x a month and you got booked if you slept outside of your 2 sheets or slept on the comforter only without pulling the bedding apart.
It was supposed to keep the comforters "germ" free. I think they actually meant SMELL free!
Plus it made it easier to make your bed if you slept outside of the sheets. No getting over on these smarty panted staff!

Didn't you all LOVE the new resident plaques? I'd LOVE to hear a GM in Portugese/Spanish!

Check out the nice swimming pool..Better than that "Jason Vorhees" lake they were rockin in Maine!

The dining hall was really nice too..

It was creepy though because even the font is the same and the tree as on the American Elan letterheads and brochures.

This person must really LOVE Elan..

A piece of smart shit. He is now living the good life off of the suffering of Argentina's troubled adolescents and their fam's. Argentina's residents must want their kids to be "good". Other countries don't put their kids in programs like Elan. They deal with these issues in their own way. Exploitation is the American way my friends. It does not surprise me someone went to another country and mimiced Elan to benefit their pocket.

In Peru for example kids grow up "wilder" than we could EVER imagine. They make us look like pansy's on our worst days!
Peru is the worlds 2nd largest distributer of Cocaine. It is as easy as having 2 or 3 bucks and you get a bag of blow that rivals those you get here for 200$. It is as easy as that. Not to mention other narcotics/liquor.
These kids grow up not having to finish school. You are not dubbed a "loser" if you drop out in 8th grade. To get a job in the narcotics industry there is like getting one in Mcdonalds here. There are kids younger than 15 "making" blow for his countrymen and all of us here in the US. It is amazing the take on drugs these people have.
It is mostly the US that is pressuring them into blowing up all of the labs in the Amazon. They roll with it to keep face but those in the know realize narcotics keep them in the lifestyle they are accustomed to so they don't want to rock the boat either way.
You have piss poor people eating maggoty rice that now go to the market and enjoy "Paella" on a daily basis. They don't care that little "Luis" is packaging up pounds of blow. They for once are not begging for beans and scraps of 1/2 rotten fish. Peruvian's live off of seafood. The better quality of fish you eat at dinner the higher class of person you are.
Try to put a "Elan" in Peru and see what happens. Unless a kid is killing people or beating his momma up or torturing animals the parents do not want them put away.
You got a 3rd world country where some will never know what a freakin DVD is.
They are not about to lock up their kid or whomever for working for some drug lord, they need and sometimes want that kid to.
From starvation to easy living.
They have their own way of dealing with madmen and violent rapist and serial criminals. It is not Elan type programs.
If a kid is THAT bad before the age of 18 most "write" him off as useless or hopeless.
My BF and his fam are from Peru that is what they have told me about Peru and the way Peruvians deal with "misfits" ages 10-100.
You are either poor or not.
My BF's fam was freakin lucky.
His Uncles played around with drugs and stuff but my Bf's Dad got a full scholarship to a university here in Ct. and in less than 3 years single handedly brought the rest of his bro's and sis's here.
7 in all including him. This was in the 60's.
Coke was a nickle a pound back then. Obviously I am blowing it out of proportion but you get the point.
Now they are all highly successfull with lawyers and doctors for kids.
Because they were NOT born poor they had a shot.
Very few that are born poor in Peru get the shot they did.
You think Bush cater's to the rich folk in the US?
Try being born poor in a 3rd world country and try to raise yourself up.
