Running from problems: Does it help?
« on: April 18, 2007, 05:03:42 PM »
I'm tired of this city. But I don't know anyone anywhere else, and I do have a couple friends.

Getting antsy though. Too many bad memories, a couple family members that need to be avoided. Nothing new left to do, just old things to avoid.

Have you ever picked up and left? Did it work out? Did you regret it?

Yes, I sure have... halfway around the world.

Ultimately, no... I had a good time along the way, though. I finally ended up returning to Baltimore (my hometown).

No, not at all...but that's just me.

If leaving an area solves your problems, its not running away from it.

Leaving the vicinity of someone who could hurt you is not running away from the problem; stalling and doing nothing about it and staying in danger, however, is.

MY problem is I can't fuckin' find out where I fit in!

I sure as hell know FLORIDA is not it.

Sometimes it helps.  But, if it becomes a consistent lifestyle ... that may be counterproductive.  IMHO.

Sometimes changing your physical surroundings can help you make a fresh start "inside."  If you're not bound by responsibilities to stay where you are, why not try it?  You could always come back if you don't like it...

If your feet are itchy then go for a good long walk. But stay in touch with those friends. Nothing, I mean nothing, like old friends who knew you when.

Strange topic.... I could have written it myself. I'm grappling with same issue.
