She would'nt have done it at ASR either, she would have walked or flicked it at the counselors (Ha,Ha,Ha, you have to know my daughter). Cleaning her room, shoveling snow but no way would she pick up feces!

Would you have been okay with her refusing to have done so? Would you have been okay with the consequences that resulted from that refusal?

It was on the suggested clothing list. I am not saying it was right, but if you picked it up with your BARE hands it is because your family did not buy you work gloves, or you just chose not to wear them.

You arent saying it was right but I dont hear you saying it was wrong either.

It would not matter, there is no way she would touch that stuff.  She would have called me up and I would have put an end to the nonsense or she would be pulled or she would walk on her own.  Consequences are not high on her list (Ha,Ha,Ha, that was always an issue) and I wouldnt approve anyway.

"Hello Mr. Who? Yes hi this is the intake counselor over at HLA, your daughters school. Yes. Okay, we'll we wanted to let you know that she's sitting on the curb outside the school waiting for you to pick her up, cause we kicked her out, her stuff has all been thrown away, and we'll see you in court for breach of contract.. Please let us know if you have any questions, and we appreciate any referals you can send our way. Oh and please watch your mailbox for the letter we sent out seeking donations for the chapel we plan to build sometime in Summer of 2002.  Bye bye now."

No, they wouldn't allow her to call you and talk about it. Or if she did talk about it, they would put her on more Restrictions or send her on an Intervention because she was "being manipulative and not progressing therapeutically".

Stopping payment on your check is a nice effort at stopping abuse, however HLA would have started assessing late fees on your account. Then they would probably state something such as, "If you don't work with the program, we'll have no choice but to dismiss your daughter."

The end result? They would kick your daughter out, HLA would not refund your 3 month deposit, she would not have received credit for that semester of school, and you'd be left scrambling trying to find a new school all because you objected to your daughter picking up goose shit with her hands.

See that was easy.... plus they give me an opportunity to make a religious donation to write off.  I mention this because the rules are changing on charitable donations which my accountant is driving me nuts on.  We need more and more documentation.  Anyone here figuring on just cut and pasting last years tax numbers think again check out Publication 526 "Charitable Contributions"  it may save you a few head aches.  You only have a few days left.

Joke all you want about a kid being kicked out, but it was hell for the parents and children who were told HLA was this great place and then had the rug pulled out from under them.

Yes you'll need that return for all those legal fees youre going to have to pay. Theirs and yours remember. Plus compensation for the staff member your daughter assulted. This is going to get expensive.

I am not indicating it is all funny or easy on anyone, but the outcome is inevitable whether I approved or not.  Dealing with the next step would not be easy, probably cut our loses and go to ASR.  Although with the assault charges they may not taker her (Ha.Ha,).

What fun! Your daughter's childhood has been forever marred by this (God only knows what happened to her while she was waiting for you on Wahsega Road) she's going to have to repeat the grade, and your families financial security has been severely damaged! Oh boy Ha Ha.

But the main thing is she is safe and has a say in how her life turns out.  She gained strength by sitting on the side of the road knowing she took a stand and is living with the consequences........  ASR is able to accelerate a child’s academics so she catches up, graduates on time and we prove that picking up bird feces can cause diseases so it is thrown out of court and HLA reimburses us for our time there by court order.

It always works out in the end, if you are honest.

She gained strength by being raped?

Sounds familiar but I'd have to disagree.

As to the bird shit diseases on that I'm gonna have to say youre correct (my argument while incarcerated) unfortunatly HLA brings up its resident goose shit expert Susie the Bullfrog who provides expert testimony calling into question the validity of the claim thus resulting in an appeal which overturns the judgement. Now you owe even more in court costs and legal fees then before. And lets not forget your daughter still has this assult charge hanging over her head.

The rain dilutes the concentration Juniper, it washes it into the ground. And it rains alot up there. North Georgia gets rainfall so often that it comes in second to the pacific northwest which is the wettest area of the country. I dont know what area of the country you reside in so I dont know how often it would rain in your area to dilute the fields. It is no different from any other field in the country. Birds, dogs, cats, wild animals, etc all use rural fields. The rain doesnt increase the bacteria, it dilutes it. Once again, the issue of whether or not geese pose a health hazard has been debated for years. There is no hard evidence. If you knew of a school that shut down a field it was probably as a precaution to ease parents minds, not due to a real hazard. I found at least 7 websites right off the bat that stated there is no proven health risk. Even when bacteria is present in areas, there is debate on whether or not it actually can cause harm to humans. But go ahead and petition to get the geese removed if they can, it might take awhile for the geese to leave though because they have been visiting that lake for years. Suggest the scarecrow idea.
