A big difference I have noticed from posting last year and then coming here a few months ago, is people seem to have less patience for each other and new comers especially.  There is a lot of anger and prejudging whether a person is a troll or if their story is real.  A year ago it wouldn?t matter if it was a true post or not, posters here would take the opportunity to send a message to the readers and engage in some really good discussions.  There doesn?t seem to be as many people interested in that now.

I think a lot of the issues get addressed privately.  I think most people just got sick of TheWho and a few other programmie trolls trolling up every thread with nonsense and stopped posting to avoid their spamming every thread.

To his credit, now he seems willing to confine the useless monkey business to his own thread.  This will help bring back some dialogue.

Well, I think if you watch the posts I make you will see the trolling isnt my own doing.  There is plenty of trolling going around with non programmies.
If we can have dialog and limit the attacks on each other the threads would be much easier to read.

Why do so few program survivors still post on this forum?

The regulars mainly consist of ex-program staff, program parents (you never outlive that title, sorry), and bystanders.

A motley crew, if there ever was one.

I like programmies better.  Sounds more upbeat and active.

Programmies refers to not just parents. It can mean parents, staff and kids who have been brainwashed.

The term Program Parent is more definitive in my view. I prefer to make the distinction of people willingly brought into programmiehood and those who are forced.

Kind of like how "wilderness program" sounds more upbeat and active than does "prison march".

Kind of like how "new age therapy" sounds better than "ancient peer pressure coercive tactics" huh?

Kind of like how "singing bird" the counselor sounds better than Jenny Thompson, the 20 year old college dropout from Missoula.

We know how touchy-feely you program parents are, it's clear in the marketing material used by programs. No more boot camps, that is WAY too honest.

Kind of like "agreements" sounds better than "rules"

Kind of like "fall out" sounds better than "narc fest"

Kind of like "restrained" sounds better then "grown men beating the shit out of kids"

Exactly, the republicans taught us that you cant get monetary support unless you make it smell nice and it should look nice on a button:

Here are a few more:

Abortionists  became  Pro choice

Anti abortionists became  Pro life

Don?t they both sound so pleasant, how could anyone be ashamed to sponsor one of those positions?

And "partly cloudy" became "partly sunny".
