Who flew from St. Pete to Springfield? I did.
« on: May 01, 2003, 11:17:00 PM »
My name is Rich and I was the only person from NewJersey besides a girl from Bordentown.

For the longest time I thought that I was completely alone and some how had totally dreampt this whole thing up. Find all these sights about Straight has really brought up alot of memories that I have kept buried for the last twenty years. I try to tell people about Straight and they don't believe me.

There has not been one fucking day in the last 20 that I have not at least thought about 5515 or Frontage Rd.

Does any one remember me?

I don't remember you, as I was in straight from '78 - '80. (st. pete).  Welcome to our little corner of the world.  Please know, you are not alone.

Best regards -

Mike

Oh yes, flying from St.Pete to VA. I was on that flight with you sipping on cocktails and watching movies.LOL I don't remember who you are but think the girl you are talking about was Sonya from New Jersey.

I know what you mean about thinking that straight was a  really bad nightmare and trying to tell friends about your experience to recieve strange responses that makes you feel like you are making up stories. After finding this group from Shelby a year ago, I felt extremly overwhelmed but now I am  finally gaining closure. How are you dealing with all the info.you have found here? :???:

I know it sucks at first but I hope you find relief in knowing others here understand.I hope you gain closure and find old friends. Please feel free to contact me at Cheeky1229@aol.com.
Take Care,
Lisa Phillips

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the kind words. All day at work I kept remembering things like when I got beaten unconscious by a new comer who was absolutely psychotic. I was so freaked out that I would become the days scapegoat  in group that when I came to and found that the kid had kicked out the window I shoved my hand through the remaining shards. I still have the scars and have permanent nerve damage.

It's amazing the bull shit I tell people who ask about the scars... Its easier to fabricate something then have to some how explain the truth.

The more I allow myself to remember the deeper it gets.  :scared:

I often wonder about people Like Sonya Maria Merethy, Ian chaves and his sister, Brian Disponet, Kent Buchnam, The Malone Family, Chuck Hargrave?(Staff ), Bob Schools, Dennis someone, Terry Smith and these two sisters from NYC thier parents owned a Deli and would from time to time bring in hundreds of sandwiches for all the kids. I read about Christen Stotlemyer I was floored. I tried to keep in touch with Chris I visited him shorly before he blew his brains out. He went to straight because he was lonely... He never  ever got high or drank.

I often wonder what I would do if I had the chance to confront some of the staff like Jim Sailor,Dean Mistreda, Courtney?, Steve ? :flame:

I am so grateful that I found this place.

Rich
