?My purpose is to make a difference in the world by shining my brilliant and radiant light."

Wow.  That's pretty Goddamn hilarious.  Who in the name of Christ would spend a significant amount of their hard earned money to listen to the asinine, new-aged hollow and fucking meaningless horseshit "teachings" from a woman capable of making such a an incredibly overblown statement in regards to herself?!  lmao - That's fucking unreal to me...i think i know this broad, if she's the same wild eyed ex-speed freak hustler that blew into Running Springs circa 1997.  I never saw her happier then the day I left I for good, with no cash, no means of transportation, and no family in the state of California.  Funny, but she seemed fairly unconcerned with my prospects.  And I always thought her "brilliant and radiant light" was going to illuminate the passageway to spiritual and emotional revelation...a revelation which would then transcend myself and be emitted from my newly minted and healed soul unto....bah, fuck.  I'm full of shit, but even I can't keep this drivel up.  This broad was nothing but a burned out, washed up hippie idealist who soured when all the men who said they loved her ended up banging her a few times and then leaving her.  Just your average con woman who preys on the emotionally weak, generates false hope through ridiculous mantras and excercises that center around stupid fucking statements like "spread your brilliant and radiant light, because you can make a difference in this world for only $299 no checks payments to be made in full before the "seminar" begins, radiant light, make a difference though...you're special, etc...

Anybody who has any degree of what you would call "street smarts" would have this twat pinned down for what she actually is within 5 minutes of meeting her.

Vicki definitly ran some of my propheets and was my family head. When she didn't feel I was bonding to people enough she had me on work assignments and writing excercises for a long time. I know I kind of liked her and was trying to impress her and that I would stay on those dishes and work/writing assignments until she felt I was with the program. She was one of the staff that appeared nice on the whole but really really into the philosophy of CEDU.

In her raps though I did feel like there wasn't as much danger, yeah, there was going to be a LOT of crying and balling, but if there was going to be less stupid needsy stuff said, by the same token. She was a master for remembering your deepest secrets and letting you know when, as an older student, you were expected to follow her lead in a rap and get to work. She made me jump through a lot of hoops, not to mention clean a toilet with great care before I was going to get out of her family.

Man, people like that are predators.  Anyone who zeroes directly in on the most taught and high strung of emotions and memories and beliefs is unworthy of trust of faith.  The idea is to find an even keel or a balance in life, at least as I've come to understand it.  Contentment does not lie at the center of a chaotic, screaming, clawing, and fucking bleeding sobfest, nor does it wait at the end of psychotic and ear piercing railing at the world nor gnashing of the teeth.  I'm sure Vicki's raps were quite emotional; she fed off of the darker human expressions of emotion like a Goddamn leech.  In my humble opinion, I found her to be quite unimpressive.  That doesn't mean I'm right man, because Christ knows I've been wrong as fuck many times before.  But shit, like I said before, Vicki was nothing but a two bit snakeoil saleswoman to me.  And frankly, I challenged her with some "tough" questions after she came at me like she knew what the fuck she was talking about, and that pseudo spiritual, fucking Stevie Nicks thing she had going for her disappeared like salt in water.  All of the sudden, she had fangs for miles, and an ability to utter grave and ominous threats.  Although, she never pushed me again.  Which led me to question the sincerity of her motives, you know what I mean?

that's so funny. i've not seen her in a long time. I remember the feet picking business. that was hysterical to whoever posted that. I don't know what she was doing when i first got to RMA. I guess I thought she had come from CEDU because she was always running raps and propheets when i was there. of all the people who would be doing adult workshops like she is Vicki Jones is a person I would have expected that from. What else would she be able to do?
and what was the deal about her and not having kids and helping us to think that not having kids was a better choice?
was she part of synanon first. I wouldn't be surprised if she had been, she was totally bought into the system. she pretended to be sweet, but I suspect she was a kook, pure and simple.

Holy fucking shit, Vicki.

She was a total annoying hippie who didn't scare me in the least. Whenever she spoke, I just kind of rolled my eyes.

Fucking hippies.

And thank fucking god she never ran any of my propheets. I would much rather have Caroline, Stacy or Sharon screaming obscenities at me than have to put up with all of her touchy feely new-agey bullshit. Even when she was yelling at someone, it sounded all hippified. At least the "heavies" at RMA got your blood going. (Mostly draining out of your face.)

OMG, I just read one of the "reviews" on the "what people say" link. They say something about "her shining coach power".

Shining coach power? Isn't that like, only available after you upgrade your +3 mace and learn magic missile?

(yeah, I'm a nerd, But at least I ain't a hippie.)

Don't mind me, just dropping in to see what the drama has been like on ol' fornits.

What are you talking about? Necromancy has been in the game since its inception.

Last I check it was impossible for a wizard/mage under the DnD 3.5 core rules to use a melee weapon such as a mace.

Maybe she has multiclassed?

Fighter/Mage?

Doubtful she seems to espouse the inner peace and light of her inner aura or some horseshit like that. The have a new class in the unearthed Arcana that seems to fit her quite well. Just can't remember it.

Clerics can use blunt weapons, such as maces. And if memory serves, I believe they can learn magic missile. I'm pretty sure my cleric Llan could cast it. (I'd have to check her stats.) There are common spells that both mages and clerics can use, and there are ones that are specific to each class. And, of course, as Gygax said, the rules are guidelines only.

I doubt Vicki is tough enough to be a cleric, though. That person who said that she could use shining coach power is probably mistaken. She seems more like an obnoxious new age version of a paladin. And as we all know, paladins SUCK! Fuck lawful good!

Sincerely,
Nerdy McDouchebag

Hmm I have played a cleric numerous times and never was he able to cast magic missle. Sure you weren't using some sort of wand?

I'll show you a wand, missy.

Actually, I just checked, Llan did have a wand of illusion, which casted audible glamer. (I don't even remember what that is supposed to do.)

But you're right, I didn't have magic missile. My first level spells were cure, command and fear. My second level were silence 15, Hold X2, and the third level was animate dead. I also had a staff of curing.

Llan was boring, though. I much preferred my Rakshasa mage. (Our DM allowed us more leeway with races for that campaign, and it included monsters.) My chaotic neutral drow elf thief was pretty cool, too. He had a wicked deck of deception. But everyone likes drow elves now. Even Everquest kind of has their own version.

Yeah, I'm tired of drows, as well. I'd never revive that character. Although you would probably have people chasing my rakshasa, too. It's kind of hard to  hide the fact that you are a tiger walking upright. (Even though he had a very big hat.) Didn't matter for the campaign we were in, though. We went to Gehenna and worked our way down to the 9th circle. Monsters everywhere, so we pretty much blended in.

Did you know they have a tavern in Gehenna?

Also, your friends violated rule #1. No arguing with the DM. Unless you want to wind up in the book of the dead.

We only did one module. It was a really interesting story. The other campaigns were all designed by the DM.

I remember her showing me some of her old DM stuff from previous campaigns back when she was in high school. She had Jay Leno as a monster in one of the dungeons. Every time he told one of his terrible jokes, you would take hit points in damage.

The first campaign I ever did with her, she had a locked door in the dungeon with no key to be found. One of the people on the campaign, Pat, was a total completionist, so she REALLY wanted to find out what was behind the door. I later asked the DM, "Hey, what was behind that door, anyway?" She said "Nothing. I just make locked doors like that to drive people like Pat crazy."

That was the same campaign that Pat's  partner got beheaded by a guy  with a vorpal blade. The DM didn't expect the damage to be that severe, but when we engaged the guy, she rolled a really  high number, and kind of said "Uh, oops." So Pat had to carry her  partner's body and severed head around in a sack until we found some way to put it back on. (We never did.)

My old DM and you would probably get along quite well. She was also a real stickler for staying in character.

You sound like you were a fun DM, TSW. Although I would probably break character and laugh too much if I played with you. The npcs in the D&D world would  think I was crazy. "We're attacking him and he is losing miserably. Why is he laughing?"
