Hyde not getting a fair representation here
« on: September 27, 2006, 09:03:04 AM »
I've only come here a couple of times, but it seems from my experience and observation that Hyde isn't getting a fair shake on this site. There's a lot of muck being thrown (often under the cloak of anonymity) and a lot of clearly unresolved anger, but it's usually not very rational or cogent. Just spleen venting. Perhaps there should be a help site linked here to some good therapists, as I don't see a lot of constructive steps being taken for people to move forward. If you're troubled, get help. Don't try to infect others with your poisonous venom.

This site is for people to post their experiences with Hyde.  You've done so and so have others.  Parents are labeled 'disgruntled' if they have complaints about Hyde.  They're written off as 'angry'.  Shit, I'd be pissed off too if Hyde did to my family what it looks like they've done to quite a few.

The healthy thing to do when you're angry is resolve your anger and move forward. Not hang onto it and try to get vengeance.

Parents usually send their kids away to school when they are haveing trouble...there's usually a reason to do with that. The parents.

Another healthy thing to do is to try and share your experience with others so that they might not have to go through the same things.

'Tis also healthy, and most healing, to hear that others have been through a hell similar to yours, and that you are NOT ALONE!

You speak exactly like a "Hyde Lifer."  What I find so humorous about this is that you are telling people to move on and yet "Hyde Lifers" live their lives at Hyde repeating their sad stories over and over again for years.  Make up your mind Hyde.  You talk out of both sides of your mouth.  A certain top staff member has been talking about her rape in college for over 25 years ago.  Should she move on also?

I do not mean to be so cruel, but the hypocrisy is unbelievable!!  Hyde's existance is all about recreating the past and talking about it over and over again.  I watched it myself year after year while at Hyde.

Perhaps there is some spleen venting on this site.  But, in addition, I'm reading lots of very thoughtful and passionate comments about Hyde and its serious shortcomings.  I came to this website with an open mind.  Some of what's here is embarrassing and churlish; these sorts of comments seem to be posted by adolescents, perhaps kids from Hyde

But if you sort through the comments and toss aside the junk, there are some powerfully compelling comments by people who seem to know Hyde from inside out.  While some of the comments defend Hyde and praise it, most of the valuable comments are highly critical of Hyde and the way it's administered.  I've learned a lot about Hyde that I didn't know before.  Granted, some of this may be biased by people who have had a bad experience.  But I'm pretty convinced by what I read here that Hyde has some real serious problems that parents need to know about.

I for one am glad that people are taking the time to share their experiences with Hyde.  I regret that some really immature people post here too, but that's the price we have to pay I suppose.

That's good to hear.  I've known this for a while, but it's nice to see someone say it.  If you don't find some truly valuable stuff here, it's because you don't want to.  Fornits is one of the only, if not THE only truly free speech site regarding this issue.  No moderation, it's pretty much a free for all but that's the only way to be assured that it's honest and fair.  Nothing is deleted or softened or toned down.  Yes that means that a lot of immature rantings and crap gets posted but if someone is truly interested , it doesn't take long to sort through what's irrelevant and find what is.  It doesn't take long to find people that are willing to discuss the issues at hand even with as heated as it gets sometimes.  And I'm assuming people considering sending their kids off will take the time and effort to do so.

You just have to take most of it with a grain of salt.

What Hyde has done to a distressingly large number of people does result in a lot of anger and venting, not to mention other reactions frequently associated with post traumatic stress syndrome.
