Contact Lumpkin county fire department, the run logs are public record. Anytime EMS is dispatched, there is a record of the incident. There WAS an incident where a student hung herself, and EMS was dispatched, as well as lifeflight. Len does not have the ability to cover that one up.

They've managed to cover up a lot of other things that should be a matter of public record.

I have never seen that denied on this site, or anywhere else.  I think HLA has claimed that no student has ever commited suicide at HLA, which is true.

HLA denies, downplays, and/or won't admit that students have attempted suicide or have been severly injured by other students.

Yeah, and they also deny that they take violent disturbed kids or court-ordered kids, but their idiotic moron of a "spiritual advisor" just wrote int the newspaper that HLA is an ATI (alternative to incarceration) program.

They LOVE telling on themselves!  Nice job, Churchie.  Thanks for more ammo.

Her room mates were on Winter Break. Most of us were. We all found out about it after the fact when we got back. I was especially close to Walter Keeping as he was my volleyball and softball coach, and he was there when we were picked up at the airport. He was the one that tried to recessitate (sp?) her, and he told me about the incident first hand at the airport, before they announced it on the bus ride back to HLA. It was Walter and my counselor, Darlene, that found her. Darlene quit shortly after because she just couldn't get over it.

This most certainly did happen, her name was Amy Klemm. They never told us what happened to her.

Was that the Darlene who was there in 2003? She was my kid's counselor for about a month before she quit (PG 59.)  They never told us why she quit. They told us some lie - like everything else they told us.  All a bunch of lies.

that was her, and that was the reason, it was all hush-hush. Everytime a staff would leave, we were told not to discuss employee issues

I think her name was Amy Smart, not Klemm. I had a box of her crayons on restrictions that said SMART (in sharpie, you know, how they'de write our last names on everything.) and Klee Hall yelled at me, took the crayons, and didn't let me finish my project. I didn't mind though. I really liked her. She had been crying for weeks in the lodge before christmas break, but that just could've been b/c she wanted to go home. Her roommate, Jennifer Wills, was on Christman break. When we came back, there was still a blood or vomit stain on the carpet in Jenn and Amy's room from when they resesitated her. Jenn and I had to clean it up and Jenn slept in my suite for the next few weeks.

Yes, it was Darlene that was also the counselor for PG 59. She was also going thru a nasty divorce, and then finding Amy was the straw that broke the camels back I guess. But no Chynna, I'm pretty sure her last name was Klemm.

It was definitely Klemm. Confirmed by staff.

Is Theresa Allen still the nurse at HLA?

http://www.hiddenlakeacademy.com/loadPr ... userID=204

They say she is.  Is this false and just on the website to make it appear as if they have a nurse on staff?
