My son quit High School.
« on: September 24, 2006, 10:46:27 PM »
My son quit High School. He was in Special Education and he said he did not want to be in special Education anymore and wanted to be put in General Education classes. The school psycologist told him he could not be put in General Education. He then quit. Where do I go from here in regards to my son finishing his education. I told him he is not normal enough to be placed in General Education but he gets very angry and slams doors when I tell him that.

I sure hope this is a troll, because if a parent tells their child they are not "normal" they oughtta be flogged.

Face it dude, you're running out of steam and running out of talent even faster. Come back in a couple of months with some fresh stuff.

Does a normal kid threaten to hit his stepfather with a broomstick? Does a normal kid make up lies that his step father molested him?

Milk,
I've been noticing these numbers on responses to 'trolls'.
1/10, 9/10
Is this some kind of rating system you've concocted?

I didn't concoct it. On the heavily trolled Fucked Company board (now defunct), the very first reply on most troll posts was a grade of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best. It usually stops conversation faster than "Don't feed the trolls!".

Unfortunately, this guy is way too persistent and his somewhat entertaining posts have sunk to the level of repetitive spam. Shame, too, he's got some talent. Hey, dude- wanna go try trolling strugglingteens.com? I'm sure they'll appreciate it more.

Not a bad idea; he should do it....maybe he will. Now that we're just shooting the shit, I've been curious about how you came up with your name, MGDP... something to do with parents not liking their kid gargling milk, but what was the whole story?

If you are truly serious and not a ST troll, and your kid dropped out of school on his own, see what alt schools there are for him/her.  Perhaps a reg. school is not what they need but an alt school  where they work at their own speed.

I would try alt school first, and if he/she won't do that, you can see about online school on the computer to finish high school diploma.  Don't let them get to you and just get a GED, they need to have a high School diploma.  Otherwise, talk to the counselor at his school that dropped out of and see what suggestions they mention.  Don't give up and don't let them give up either.

(a parent of a son, now 18, who dropped out of hs, went to a wilderness program and then a TBS, and graduated from HS and now is living in a dorm and going to community college)

Interesting.

Now list the wilderness program and TBS so we can give you a guess as to when your kid is going to murder you.

Ha Ha, he is not going to murder me, and he came out of the TBS and graduated in high school with 5 A's and one B, where here at home he dropped out of high school with straight F's because he never went to class, and then just dropped out.

He is not mad at me.  He has told me such.  He may only attend one year of community college, in a dorm, up to him, he has a federal pell grant and a student loan, that helps with tuition, but his Father, my ex won't help at all, and my Mom is paying for the rest of his tuition, and his room and board.  Will wait and see how the first year goes, if it is not for him, ok, then he will have to save up his money and get a room somewhere, and work.  He doesn't want to come here, home, as there are about 3 kids here that think my son owes them money.  My son has told me that it is not good for him to be here, and that is ok.  He is doing ok where he is, and I am proud of him, and he is poud of himself as well.

Anyway, just wanted to say this to you and I am not a troll, I learned my lesson a long time ago about that, have not posted on ST in a long time or on here either.

You know that whole time you stopped posting here?

It's probably about time to get back to that.
