Wow, maybe one of them will share some of your personal info, I mean, you are so fascinating and interesting, I'd love to hear wht they have to say about you.  I guess they ignored that confidentiality agreement they signerd when you gave your personal info to them.   Hmmmm, maybe they should post it so we can better get to know you.

I never get these straight on sarcasm posts - they don't come across as funny, and they aren't insightful either. I just end up thinking of the tone of voice people get when they are being sarcastic. It's kind of a desperate and whiny anger. The guy who is sarcastic in the movies is usually about to like trip on something and fall on his ass and drop his briefcase, or else like knock over his coffee and curse and just keep having stuff go wrong. Then it can actually get funny. Some of the funniest comedy scenes are when someone like Steve Martin gets real mad and sputtery and foolish and does an intricate series of banana peel maneuvers. It's like comic tragedy.

..."...just be smart..."...well that makes sense.  I mean that's good advice 'n' all..."be smart", yeah, I like it.  I would only add that it would also behoove you to take warnings like this with a grain 'a' salt.  No-one is even asking for any personal information.  Those e-mail contacts are there to provide information on the upcoming memorial services.

$tr8 survivors have been dealt a hard lot.  I have my opinions. I would reserve judgement, if I could.

We are living.  Such is life...

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

Impossible to say. Unless someone left a note explicitly naming the Program as the reason, people can and will argue about it forever. Good example. There was a case where a kid died in a car crash. It just so happened that the other car was full of former Straightlings and there was beer involved. So the family went with the most comforting (to them) version of events; the other former Straightlings, who were considered fuckups (that was the official term used to describe splits, pull offs and other of the shunned) killed their proud Program graduate by drunk driving. The reality of the situation was much different. It had been the kid who died who was drunk as hell and who caused the wreck. But no need to trouble the parents over that, right?

But that's the way it goes. You can acurately say that this one died of that cause and in such manner and that one another way and then stand back and compare our overall courses in life w/ those of our friends, cohorts and favorite consorts who didn't recieve all the benevolent help and draw whatever conclusions you may. And you can ask those of us who understand why someone might feel like giving it all up some days because of the Program. But you can't state emphatically that this death or that one was because of the program. Some things are just unknowable.

No one died as a result of their time in Straight!

Straight made them kill themselves? ::boohoo::

Saying that kids died "as a result of their time in Straight" betrays a druggie attitude toward taking responsibility one's own actions!
