Take note of the cars and persons that will gather at the periphery. I am not talking about survivors. Take a picture of these persons, without their notice, if possible.

We really need to work up a backup location...

If it 's too cold, too rainy, too windy, it just won't be too easy to take our time and get much out of it all...

It looks like folks will be there from all over and from far far away, so we need to have our backup plan...

How about a school gymnasium? They could probably even hook you up with blue chairs. Gyms are nice. The weather doesn't get in.

Dragonfly I would be curious if you could expand on this topic of "living dead". Do you see yourself as living dead? Do you see other people as living dead? I was curious as to your information gathering on this subject and an expanded definition/criteria set to illuminate your conclusions.

folks spaminating on themselves....

really should be done in the privacy of your own homes...

Or dedicate a whole thread to it, but somewhere else...

can't even wipe that shit off when you post it as anon...

It is curious, this constant referencing to shitt. Why is this? Where did this come from? They did it all the time in the program, twelve steppers use it, and we see here it's remnants still twenty (?) years after. Where did people hear this kind of metaphoric lingo? I am sure shit has been used to insult (what is an insult, please? what are the earliest insults on record?) since time immemorial. However, how did Straight use it, please, anyone like to give a shot at this? That is, how did it advance the purposes of Straight? Thank you for all guesses.

DF references their presented appearance as an affront to what was likely one of the earliest taboos on record. This intended meaning is likely read on many levels. It might reasonably be a powerful trigger -- conscious or unconscious -- to cult time and circumstance, or even to potty training experiences. Possibly the person who posted it has triggers from other things in this venue that elicit the use of the shit/worth comparison tactic. Possibly this venue recreates and triggers in some ways the original cult model? I guess that with no empirical evidence whatsoever. Just a guess, just totally wagering a guess, never talked to the guy (girl?). However, this does not answer your question of why this tool is used over other possible tools.

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

Regarding your "spaminating shit" post, actually, you were insulting every single person who posted what you consider to be spam on this thread. Which is neither here not there, you aren't more or less insulting than anyone else really, it's just the shitt references might be one of the weirder abusive things about 12-step cults. Regarding your "living dead" post, I was actually hoping you could explain it better just because I don't think I know what or who you are talking about so I thought I would ask. Answer or don't, it's just a message board. There is no insult in discussing these things.

This I learned in Straight :

procrastination is like masterbation, the only one you are screwing is yourself!

These references to body functions are interesting. I think they might function at least in part as thought-stoppers. Some says to you "I think you are full of shit," you are talking to someone who has an agenda to make you feel shame. They want to convey to you that not only do they think you are not telling the whole truth, you are actually contaminated and dirty on the inside from this. Another thing I was thinking about, Straight really was hyper interested in everything that was in our bodies or had been in our bodies. What did you put in your mouth, up your nose, in your arm, what has been between your legs? Do you put things in these places Straight doesn't think should be there? Confess your ingestion! Eliminate! One of Straight's biggest lies is that shame is helpful. It also makes secrets into shit that you are full of and you have to confess them to get clean. It is normal and healthy for people to keep things private and to engage in a certain amount of stepping around the truth and subterfuge, according to their needs for safety of person.

Interesting, but the expression is quite common. That is, it's used by many who have never been in a program of any kind. Still, an interesting observation though.
