Well, we ain't gonna go for any big time production numbers in St. Petersburg, just an informal gathering, maybe a brief opening statement,  give anyone who wants to a chance to say something, maybe read out the names of the dead, maybe a moment of silence for the dead and still suffering.  The main point is to BE THERE.  Show up and give voice to your memories, or remain silent, but attend and help us remember those of us who are no longer among the living, and those who are alive and suffering.  We'll probably have a floral arrangement, and some candles for everyone.  Nothing fancy or formal, just a memorial.

I kind of like the idea of people maybe showing up an hour early if they feel like it, to hang out and say hi, then we can get on with the memorial at 6:00.

Havn't been around alot and I havent followed this thread...I do recall a site being mentioned earlier in the thread...but have forgotten the details...

So, when/where is the St.Pete shindig?...I diffinately plan on attending!

Well, I am envisioning a memorial service at the VA warehouse on Backlick Rd.

It will be this fall, and I am inviting the press and anyone else interested.

We are still in the brainstorming phase if you have any ideas.

My idea is to perform a ceremony for our own personal healing and to call attention to the fact that we ARE healing from a very real and ongoing disaster.

life is precious and short

Amen 2 That ! I will try 2 get a ride.

We are still in the brainwashing phase if you have any ideas.

My idea is for us to hold a service for our own personal stealing and to call attention to the fact that we ARE swimming from a very real and ongoing hurricane.

We really need to work up a backup location...

If it 's too cold, too rainy, too windy, it just won't be too easy to take our time and get much out of it all...

It looks like folks will be there from all over and from far far away, so we need to have our backup plan...

Hardee's.

folks spaminating on themselves....

really should be done in the privacy of your own homes...

Or dedicate a whole thread to it, but somewhere else...

can't even wipe that shit off when you post it as anon...

It is curious, this constant referencing to shitt. Why is this? Where did this come from? They did it all the time in the program, twelve steppers use it, and we see here it's remnants still twenty (?) years after. Where did people hear this kind of metaphoric lingo? I am sure shit has been used to insult (what is an insult, please? what are the earliest insults on record?) since time immemorial. However, how did Straight use it, please, anyone like to give a shot at this? That is, how did it advance the purposes of Straight? Thank you for all guesses.

Well, I just want to say again that there seems to be plenty of living folks who did not survive Straight Incorporated...

There is a part of me that is gone too...

I hope we can somehow acknowledge this together on the 11th...

I hope somebody at the memorial can speak about those of us stuck in a living death...
.

Dragonfly I would be curious if you could expand on this topic of "living dead". Do you see yourself as living dead? Do you see other people as living dead? I was curious as to your information gathering on this subject and an expanded definition/criteria set to illuminate your conclusions.
