Having performed over 300 or more restraints I think I'm uniquely qualified to say, "Face up... Ass down.. face down.. ass up.. it makes no difference. No restraint technique is safe and the very moment you lay your hands on a person you assume the risk of injuring or killing them."

The inherent problem with that video is the arm holds  more than the face down position. The kid's arms were racked back into such a position the potential for dislocating both of his shoulders exists should he struggle.

Hence its not a restraint. It is a submission hold.. A restraint by nature is designed to safely contain the person to prevent harm to him/her self or another. Contain... Not put them in the position where if they struggle they hurt themselves more.

Poor form on the staffers part.. tsk tsk.

Where does it say that? Oh, thats right, I forgot, we are all expressing our opinions. Yes, I agree, face down is a little rough, but the floor was carpeted and maybe the kid was given the option to be forced down on his ass or face. Maybe that should be made part of the procedure so atleast the kids have some control and an option. What do others think?

Yes, it is my opinion, but everyone should think the same way on this one, don’t you agree?  I tend to agree with you that the child should be given the option to go down on his/her face or ass.  But if you think about it the whole reason the kid is being restrained is because he wasn’t listening in the first place and was probably given several options before he/she forced the situation to escalate to that point.  The good news is we haven’t seen anymore videos out there of this kid being restrained or put down so it seems he and the staff came to some kind of agreement.  So there were positive results its just too bad it had to get to the point it did.

I see.. battering the child with a pain assisted restraint promoted fear within him therefore making him scared of the pain of sassing the staff/goons again. Brilliant.. if only that really worked. I'd say the reason why we never saw another one of those is brat camp started getting a bit smarter about what kind of kid they took and began selectively editing the footage..

Still wishing you were me?  I'm logged in who.  You are playing who games again.  My opinions are plainly stated under my user name.  Why are you hiding?  Still scared?

Address Che Gookin's comments.  He is much more informed about restraints than you who.  He's had experience performing them.

So what would you call the manoeuvres described by Hrt2hrt on the facility Q and A?

Are you kidding me?  The take downs are what keeps the ratings up.  Who wants to see a bunch of losers sitting around the camp fire singing "Kim by Ya" for an hour every week.  Bring on the confrontation!!  Edit out the camp fire scenes and get more kids with spunk!!  Poke them with sharp sticks so they act out for the camera crew

Now that it's clear to everyone TheWho is not here to have an honest discussion, what do you think his reasons for spending all day everyday on fornits are?

Does he take a sick pleasure in reading about children's pain?
Does he enjoy trolling abuse survivors for kicks?
Is he mentally retarded, on disability, and has nothing else to do in his half way house?

The possibilities are endless!  :bs:

Watch this video and take note of what is occuring and how it makes you feel.

Now, take note at how TheWho reacts:
Quote from: "TheWho"
The take downs are what keeps the ratings up. Who wants to see a bunch of losers sitting around the camp fire singing "Kim by Ya" for an hour every week. Bring on the confrontation!!  It seems she and the staff came to some kind of agreement. So there were positive results

Only a textbook sociopath can react in this way without having any sympathy for a girl being hurt on purpose.

When this anonymous program pusher TheWho talks about "positive results", parents now know what he is talking about. HIDE YOUR KIDS FROM THEWHO!

Ahh.. I see where you are coming from now. Took me a minute.. blame it on sleep deprivation. Sort of like the Jerry Springer show.. no one watched it for the witty banter, philosophical debate, and in depth reporting.

Kids with more spunk you want eh? Don't use gangbangers then.. They are all afraid of the woods at night and will stop acting like idiots as soon as the sun goes down.

Truth about theWho:  His daughter does indeed despise him post ASR.  It was an awful time for her and she left by playing the ASR game.  When she left she shunned her father.  He even had the nerve to ask her to post "something positive" about ASR on Fornits.  She refused angrily.  The threats of disowning her and cutting her out of any will didn't work.

"Who" has a very close tie to ASPEN, but the ties run into NATSAP and a very, very close relationship with a well known pro TTI website.

Why are we constantly revisiting this tripe anyway? It has been proven again and again that if  you post around him and ignore him he will go away.

But this?  This, I must confess, is interesting.
