you know who you never did get around to answering my questions.
What specificaly is the therapeudic benefit of "bans" in the case of a wholesome friendship?
If mary Ellen was as bad a drug addict and anorexic as Dave marcus suggested how is Wilderness not at the very least risking doing physical harm?
Dave marcus suggested that some kids hear songs from the workshops years later and still cry. Do you think that this means that the school helped or harmed?

I am sorry  didnt respond earlier,  I really dont know how to answer that, I am not a professional in the field and I dont have an opinion right now.

These are kids and we need to listen to their stories and take them seriously but we have to remember they are kids.

Why does no one else pick up on these? The man's sadism and wish to belittle is unbelievable, almost self-parodic.

They are kids, and one of the basic principles of morality is that you do not do this shit to kids.

We are not talking about doing anything to kids.  We are talking about stories that kids tell.  We need to be able to decipher fact from embellishment.  Some kids don?t have the skill to differentiate.  As responsible parents we need to do that for them.

Who, step away from yoyur keyboard and go get yourself a copy of that Live at Leeds deluxe edition that Toker was telling you about. It'll do you good. While you're at it, consider picking up some of your favorite hooch or scoring some weed, if you know who (no pun) has some.

Do yourself (and the rest of us) a favor & take a break from these forums.

Who,
Did you participate in the survey?
Is your daughter considered on of Aspen's successes?

No I dont think so.  I filled out a follow-up of some sort but it was short, not much feedback was asked for, so I dont think it was a survey.
I dont know if she is considered one of their successes or not.  We had a show contact us and asked if we would be interested in being interviewed.  But we didnt do it.

Oh that's right. She was in the 98% who fail, and go back to drugs, then moved away and didn't speak to you for two years.
But, hey, she did catch up academically, which please you, but then never went to college.
That does sound like the typical success story.

Hmm...  not sure where that is coming from or means.  I think that you asked me if I filled out a survey or not.  Guess I should have stuck to "No"

Mmmm. Got it from you

http://www.fornits.com/wwf/viewtopic.ph ... ter#163947
But anyway my daughter would fall into your 98% who go back to drugs (statistically) but long term the kids that finish at ASR do much better. Academically she was way ahead when she returned

http://www.fornits.com/wwf/viewtopic.ph ... &start=435
There basically isnt any and she regressed like a slingshot as soon as she got home and wanted to experience everything she missed. I.e. smoked cigarettes, smoked pot., drank, stay out late etc. but after a few weeks she realized there were things she wanted to do with her life and started to move on. She still drinks and smokes pot etc, but in moderation.

http://www.fornits.com/wwf/viewtopic.ph ... ter#160456
Exactly what happened. My daughter moved to NYC and I only heard from her once in 2 years, still never went to school.

Who... I sure hope you did in fact take my advice & you're out right now purchasing that deluxe CD edition of The Who's "Live at Leeds" as indicated. After all, you did say that my suggestion was the best suggestion all night. I hope you get high and/or drunk on something while listening to it too.

Okay , I?ll go back for you (one more post):

I was asked if I knew Don Vardell the administrator??  he was at Peninsula Village?? etc.

I said no I don?t recall the name but many people have left since I was there.

Is he #6, still there? Or have they replaced him too, in their quest to spin change and 'improvement'?

THE WHO you are an idiot. Your little Harvard analogy just might be one of the most stupid things you have everr posted.
Yep, you ARE an idiot.
Hope that daughter of yours is miles, and miles and miles away from your stupid butt.

No its not, ask Niles.  A year or so ago I had some pretty bad analogies.  There was this discussion about isolation and I was trying to compare isolation to the witness protection program (to try to make a point of some type).  Not sure what I was thinking at the time but it was really a stretch in retrospect.

Niles, regardless of what you think I mean. I truly believe the ?Isolation? that is used by ASR is a very good thing. Could it be improved, yes. But the isolation and insulation from any outside influences are very important, especially at the beginning. As time goes on the restrictions ease up and then eventually you go home.

Is your daughter still in NY? Has she spoken to you yet?

Who, you promised. You are to ignore these posts until you've listened to that album in its entirety. It's in your best interest!

Seriously, I don't want to hear from you until you're telling me what a great fucking album Live at Leeds is and how much fun you (hopefully) had while tying one on or smoking something nice & sticky. :smokin:

Godspeed!

The Who writes:

ASR is what the grduates and parents say it is and as long as people are spending money it must have value.

This is your proof that it "worked" for your daughter?

Quote
My daughter Finished at ASR and within a week went back to her old friends , drank and smoked. After a couple of weekends she stayed home and said "My friends just sit around, smoke and drink. They dont want to do anything or talk about anything but getting high". I smiled and thought to myself "That was you 16 months ago."
She went on to get a job gradually met new friends and is doing well.

Hey, Who...Was Don Vardell the administrator during your malingering association with ASR? He was at Peninsula Village. Does ASR change administrators as often as PV, like every 1 1/2 years?
I don?t recall the name, but many staff names have changed in the past 3 years.

Oh horseshit. You know his name, the infamous Rudy Bentz. Followed by John Powers, then the infamous Vardell. In fact, ASR had 6 Directors in 7 years? And about 3 or 4 different directors of the Addictions program.

I dont remember Vardell.  John Powers was Dean of Academics when my daughter went there, I remember him and Rudy Bentz.

Sweetie, are you having memory failure, or are you the best damn troll to ever hit Fornits. Did you even have a daughter in ASR?

Powers (Exec Dir- new term) was the Director when your daughter was there. When they fired HeadMaster Bentz, who you said you liked, and before they hired Alan Russell and promoted Powers to Reg Dir of Eastern Residential Schools and Programs. Ten months later, Vardell replaces Russell.

I hope folks are finished replying to any of his posts for a while.
Surely there MUST be something better to do than to refute this mofos nonsense all the damn time.

Go pet your dog, take your kids somewhere...
Watch a movie, curl up with a good book, get laid, listen to a CD that you've been wanting to listen to....

Something... Anything...
