How so?  Be specific.

No, I think you are talking about yourself again Anne.  I believe you were the one who's kids aborted your home schooling attempt so you shipped them off to strangers to raise.

...

You say things like that and expect her not to swear at you? :ftard:

She swears at people (and myself) regardless of who I am talking to... being nice did not change things in the past.  I am treating her the way she treats me (minus the swearing).

Well I do yes...But if you reread the post you will see that I was indicating that niles has never attended a program nor had a family member attend one.  His knowledge is strictly limited to what he has learned here on fornits which is heavily biased and not well balanced information.  As for myself (since you seem interested).....  I have had a family member attend 2 programs and have been involved with them myself as well as what I have learned here on fornits.... how about yourself?

...

I personally have experience being inside the program, not just shipping someone off to them and taking a Sunday drive out for a fairy tale style visit. I lived the reality of a program where you sat on your couch watching tv stuffing your face with food and beer.

And like you said you had a family member (your daughter not you) who was in a program, so your opinions and daydream dementia mean nothing as you don't have first hand experience being in a program.

I personally have experience being inside the program,

Well that’s a start…and you also have some experience with what you have read here on fornits which counts for some (don’t sell yourself too short).

Yes but you see I had to support a family.  You had all your meals cooked for you, paid for, someone to clean up after you.  You didn’t have to pay for electricity or heating bills, meals.  You didn’t have to worry about (or be responsible for) anyone else except yourself (and may still not have to today).

So to recap, I have knowledge of the inside of the program and from the outside of the program for a TBS and for Wilderness which allows me to see the larger picture.  I also have the knowledge of reading peoples accounts here on fornits for a few years.
So I do see that you have plenty to contribute here, Botched,  but you have limited knowledge (from only one perspective).

For  James T. ,  I understand your concerns and you can learn plenty here if you are patient and can cut thru the BS and local trolls (negative posts)… try to follow “Sunshinedaydream” as an example.  I would contact the school first… I will leave a link for you to read below (just click on it) and then email me (the second one was my home email) if you have further questions… Good luck.

For James T:  PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS POSTER!

You will get plenty of negative posts like these here as I mentioned in my email... as you read the link, I gave you, look at the desperation of the anti program people trying to discredit her story every step of the way (almost toe-to-toe).  When you are done, email me, and I will show you how many here take offense if you even question just "one" of their stories.....  this is not a balanced forum by any means and is designed to turn you against the entire industry.

Look.  If you're willing to take the advice of "TheWho" who could be anybody, for all you know, please...  for the sake of your child, listen to my side of the story.

He will not be that open with you.  I swear to you under penalty of perjury that in my very very strong opinion he is NOT who he says he is and you would be entrusting your child in the hands of somebody who truly does not care about his or her welfare. PLEASE...  do not make the same mistake my parents did.

On the contrary.  This is the ONLY balanced forum.  This is the only forum where every point of view is allowed.  If this forum is so one-sided, why is TheWho allowed to post here?  You would be foolish to listen to the deceptions of this con man.  He will tell you what you want to hear, tell you that the industry is safe.  Please...  Do your homework and I stand by my policy on confidentiality, despite what TheWho might say.

You are a little late, psy, he has moved on.....but for the rest of the readers... do your homework (as Psy mentioned) read here and you will see it is heavily biased against the industry which I always see as valuable.  It is good to look at both extremes to get a feel for what people are saying (helps with your list of questions) and then call the school or schools and have your list of questions handy... then I always suggest to visit the school...talk to staff and the students... speak with previous parents who have been thru the program (or had kids go thru the program).

Why are you so opposed to parents seeking information about the schools?  Why does everyone insist that they have all the answers and they don’t need to look any further?  These are kids we are all talking about... before any parent makes any decision about their future they should talk to as many people, professionals  and check as many sources as possible (including fornits).. Speak to the parents....students... former students.... staff...tour the facility and speak to kids at random...don’t leave anyone out.  But you can’t expect any parent to realistically come here and make a decision based on anonymous posters (myself included).
