Karen's one of our favorite trolls, Carmel. The post was pure diabolic advocacy. There's no sense in seriously arguing with that.

Carmel, Karen didnt post what you are replying to, she posted the following silly reaction.

I posted it. And I would like to make it clear that I am not here to argue with people like you who do have valid points.
I do however think that you are an exception and not the rule. Many many kids who are placed in TCs display behavior that warrants some sort of extreme action.
The choices are few, as I indicated.
Unfortunately I dont think theres anything "we" can do to eliminate the parents who decide thier child needs to be somewhere other than home to deal with some very manageable child issues.
There ARE victims of TCs out there and in here.

I qualified for a TC by MY OWN standards. I was a hellion. But even though my "treatment" consisted of things that I wouldnt consider doing to any kid (but still might allow someone else to if the kid was a fucking hellion as I) I still dont consider myself a victim. I think I got what I had coming, which was likely mild by comparison to a juvie hall or adult prison or boot camp.
TCs today are coming around. Elan for example no longer employs the methods you read here.

You have to seperate what is considered "abuse" from what the "kids" simply dont fucking like to be subjected to (IE accountability for thier actions, limited freedom/isolation, steady productive activity)
None of those things are crimes. And are often quite mild compared to neglect and abuse at home.

I dont think its far fetched to say that the most vocal people here who were sent to a TC never qualified as a "bad kid"
But I think its a bit dilusional to think youre not out-numbered by kids who do fit that title.

TCs are not going away. Bad kids are not going away.

Im not here to say fornits needs to go away. It would be nice if Fornits and its members would address a problem with a viable solution.
I happen to think its going to require compromise.
We need to lobby. We need to be heard as a reasonable, CREDIBLE voice.
We need to act in a manner that has possitive effects for the KIDS at risk.

Shutting down a TC and ridiculing parents isnt going to do a damn thing to keep a troubled (or normal kid) from being sent to another program.

Public schools foot the bill for many kids who are refered to TCs.
Where do public schools get thier money?
Taxpayers!

If someone in here thinks Joe Homeowner/Taxpayer is going to come in here, and walk away with a plan to confront his local legislators, youve got your heads in your asses.

Many program tuitions are paid with medical insurance. Think you dont help fund that with the premiums you pay?
Think again.

Sitting in here bitching back and forth among ourselves and the filthy trolls is a perfect waste of time.
Its time the wheels were put in motion to take an active approach to the TC issue, the troubled parent issue, and the institutions that help pay for these places.
I do think the state of Fornits is a joke. A pathetic joke, plain and simple. I dont think its going to ever become a valid, effective, credible voice in the effort to right wrongs our kids face.

Thus I have to question the purpose, and the Mo of the site creator/enabler.
I dont get it. Do you?

I think I might have written this but forgot to log-in.  But as I reread it and saw that the writter got their point across so well without the use of analogies and so briliantly that it could not have been me.
Well said, anon, I wish there were more people here who would focus their energy on solving the issues and helping these kids also.

I dont get it. Do you?

Have you ever been told that you might have an issue with unrealistic expectations? issues with control?

Did you read somewhere that the goal of this site was to become a "valid, effective, credible voice in the effort to right wrongs"?

What exactly does that mean for you and what changes would you make? Do you want to take the helm and lead the members of this site, or want someone else to do it but to your specifications?
Your method of recruitment is lacking.

::boycott::  And start your own forum where YOU get to make the rules. YOU get to decide what is useful or not to survivors and unhappy parents.

BTW, What "specifically" are you doing to end abuse and death in programs?

Same question goes to you, Who.

Also, you make some valid points about school districts and insurance companies. What are your suggestions? Or were you just venting (bitching)?

No, but Ill offer a suggestion: Find a hobby that doesnt require more than 3 minutes of steady focus.
Or, get your ritalin scrip refilled.

Obviously youre content with the mediocrity of fornits. Do you really expect me to single handedly motivate you to actually DO something worthwhile?
Armchair activists.

I do take an active role in my community which has referred a dozen kids to TCs in the last 7 months.

How many of your 1000 fornits posts can be defined as anything other than passive activism and/or critism to other members?

I'd like to say you and I have something in common IE an effort to keep kids from ill treatment. But I think your participation here is for your own twisted need to be a part of something self serving rather than self less.

Sorry, I dont have any more time for the defeatest attitudes.
If you think fornits aint broke...
Dont fix it.

Trust me, I dont have an overwhelming need to see this site change gears and become productive.
Sorry I gave you that impression.
Now back to your regurlay sceduled mediocrity, already in progress.

Referring kids to TCs is activism? How are you being an advocate? How are working to end abuse / death in programs?

Did you read somewhere that the goal of this site (or the owner) was to become a "valid, effective, credible voice in the effort to right wrongs"?

What exactly does that mean for you?
What changes would you make to Fornits, if it were your site?
Pretend to know, and refer, to 'more gentle' programs?
Ban people, like myself perhaps, who irritate you?

Seems You've got a little attention deficit problem going on there yourself.

Isnt it?

Are we here to share our stories and do whatever we can to confront the teen help industry in an effort to keep kids from the same abuses we endured?

Or is Fornits just Gingers diplay of sick fucks who strengthen her claim that she is a victim of a TC and her parents owe her an apology?

What the fuck IS the point of this site?

Everyone does what they can and are inspired to do.
Again, what specifically do you want 'all of us' to do?
Is there a specific cause you want us (members) to join?
