The site claims that "every month over 2,000,000 families search the internet for alternative educational and therapeutic options for their children."
Every MONTH??? How did Marie arrive at that number? Just pull it out of thin air so parents don't feel like they are "all alone"?
They don't charge parents. Means the program pays them for referrals. Considered a red flag.
"Find help for troubled teens through our youth drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs and well as many other tough love programs."
Tough Love is also a red flag in the industry. Can imply all types of abuse. If a program asks you to sever contact with your child, run away. Find a local service that can aid you and your
kid(s) in learning a different way to communicate and problem solve. Kids benefit most when their parents deal with problems at home rather than isolating them from the real world, in a warehouse. Ask for research that supports the aggregation of distressed teens. I haven't seen any to date, but have seen ample research to indicate that it is not beneficial.
