I finally went to Utah last week.I told my daughter I would be gone for ski vacation. She was okay to stay with my brother while I was gone. I saw lease five longterm residental programs there. I was very very very disappointed. The one that my insurance would pay for a 100 days. PxxxCxxxx told me that I have to have an appointment to view the facilities and that I would have to pay 6 months in advance. The whole place more or less an instition. Plus the fee was high 8,200/month. Worse than what I have expected when my daughter was in Psycho hospital (there people are more care!)Then I went view others who claims to be "HOME" like enviroment. Some where in a run down neighborhood that I doubt it has ever look like the photos on the brochurs. More or less a "Day-care center". Cheap of charge 4000/month but they only have two adults. One watches 6 girls and the other on the phone. They called it home study more or less "self-study". I really doubt it that girls would really make over thru high school? The other "Home" has two parents. Acutally their daughters lives there as well plus they take care four other girls. Girls would go to "local High School". I definitly doubt it to send my daughter there. It was the local high school start the whole thing...how would I send her again to local high school? So it am't too much of idea. Another Institution I view in Utah..My, they are wanting 13,000/month. I really wonder how people in Utah would really charge someone with that much of money??? Less than an Acre big! there am't many licenses staffs as I saw. I was very chilling after viewing all those facillities. I wonder how they have the right mind to milk out all those hard working parents or parent?(I was even consider work double jobs to pay for it). Perhaps quit my job and move to Utah for a year might be much cheap than that. I wonder? The last but not lease I thought more of my idea and the couple are more of care. They provide one on one tutoring and plus an activity center near by. a nice decent neighborhood. She seem to care for kids. The only problem that I am not too easy with. Is the girls and boys are all in the same household and the age range from 10-17. However, I'd think that would be my last resolve of sending her to Utah. I almost scream when I see the conditions and the place they called longterm....make me want to yell "Robbers"! Somehow renting a place and throw the key...would more or less to describe how those facillities runs....I don't think I would ever gain my happy girl back from those places!!!
I came back and I have different perceptions of her. Acutally she is trying hard to not go to Utah. She has improved some her school works from friday card she has move the F to a C. School is prepared to run some tests on her mentally and emotionally. She has been more calm than before. My brother and sister-in-law have been very helpful regarding care of her while I am at work. She still goes counseling twice per week. She told me she is looking into taking some classes in summer for prepare of college study. I hope this positive force won't be in vain. I am trying my hardest to keep her in track. Hopeful I wouldn't have to send her to longterm program in near further. I am still keep all the options open! Maybe I would really find that useful program to get her happness back again! Thank you for all your cares and concerns! SM

Don't count on this parent continuing to "think right."  The other "struggling turkeys" are working her, and will convince her to send her daughter to one of THIER RECOMMENDED SCHOOLS. Keep reading.

Threatening kids with sending them away to these shitholes is a lot more effective than the shitholes themselves.

It's a shame, but it's well put - and true.

DON'T DO IT!  DON'T DO IT!  They will try to convince you that your daughter will die or end up on the streets but more kids die and end up on the streets after being traumatized in these concentration camps.  Don't let them sucker you.  My daughter never got over the betrayal and abuse she suffered at the hands of these greedy jerks.  Just love your daughter,  help her, keep her close and work on yourself.  99% of "troubled kids" problems is having troubled parents.

I could teach them useful life skills, and "accomplishment and self esteem" by having them service my car for me, and be a free pit crew.

They'll even get matching uniforms and hats for extra togetherness!

*insurance, all tools, and track fees to be paid for by the parents of course.
