Anybody from Sarasota Straight?
When I was a newcomer at St. Pete my brother was a fourth phaser at the same program. Early in 1984 he and the rest of the fourth and fifth phasers were taken to the Sarasota program to try and revive it. When my brother got back he said that the kids there had been abused so much that they had given up completely. No one was motivating during rap! That would have resulted in being sat on in the St. Pete program--but apparently the kids at Sarasota had completely given up. I think that particluar program closed soon after.


Does anybody know specifics about what happened at Sarasota?

Sarasota in `84????
Hi, I was in Sarasota from the day it opened in around November or December of `80 till Oct of `82. I was under the impression that the Sarasota branch closed down for good in summer of `83. A of former Straightlings went over to George Ross' LIFE program, that started happeneing at least as early as early `83 as my parents tried to put me there after I turned 18.


There are a bunch of news items in the news archive at http://fornits.com/anonanon/'>fornits.com/anonanon/ But I don't know anything about what was actually going on there after I left. I never kept in touch with anyone. My mother stayed involved, as I understand it, but I was a split so she wouldn't really associate with me or tell me the truth if she even knew it.

Sarasota Straight
I was in St. Petersburg Straight and heard the horror stories about Sarasota.  It was bad in St. Petersburg, but we were made to know that it was worse in Sarasota and could get sent there if we didn't cooperate.  I think I was in around '81-'82.  Have tried to block it out the last 20 years.

straight
I was in straight from feb. 81 until 84. I thought I would never get out of there. I was started over on 5th phase I split and was started over once. I have tried to block out straight from my life but, like a bad cough it keeps coming back. I still stay in touch with some friends from the program but, after over 20 years its hard to stay in touch with people. Remember all the rules, and being sat on.
