I propose a solution- we all write our stories up or what we've seen, ...we submit them all to Child Protective Services in the respective states...

 Now we just need stories...  we can also compile some the stories on tbfight.com and other sites an send those as well....

I think that part of what we should really point out it the ways these facilities really mess with your mind and how that's abusive... Sometimes I feel like people have a hard time beleiveing that the psychological ceorcion. min control, brain washing (whatever you want to call it) is legitimately abusive, do you feel like that's the case?[ This Message was edited by: katfish on 2006-03-01 08:18 ]

Of course I do. Look, it's been over 15 years since I have been there. I still think about it. Hell, I still have nightmares........them chasing after me. I still am trying to sort stuff out in my own brain!

WWASPS programs are notoriously bad, it's almost like most ethical ed cons don't recommend WWASPS ... NATSAP distances itself from them and presents an ethical front.
As someone who attended a NATSAP endorsed program, I can't help but wonder how many more facilities  there are- small independent ones...that get away with these things-- I just wish I new more about what these 'things' are- the biggest issues, as i mentioned, i think is the coercive psychology...I wish I heard more about what others went through...
that said, i think it would be useful if we all partnered up & started taking a broader strategic look. i think we should come together and name the issue and figure out ways to solve this...

- kids need to be treated humanly
 -effictive treatment at these  facilities
-Access to advocates

What else?

What must we do/change to achieve this is the question?

I have submited my story to Dr. Pinto, see here for more on that
http://cafety.org/index.php?option=com_ ... &Itemid=38

that same story should be submitted to CPS, kat has it, e-mail address above.  I think we should all do that, but...it was really hard to do, I spent much of my time crying as a Iwrote, really freaked out... there's far more power in our stories than...than, just saying, these schools, or this school is bad...

So please, reach out to Dr Pinto or the cafety.org people.  Becuase the 'End Institutiaonlized Child Abuse act' is due for a hearing.  And I think John McCain can push this bill through- what if we send it to him with an official professional looking letter- presumably the Chareles or Kat or Dr pinto? can do that and just have a nice stack of stories from us describing the mental anguish, the...torture- or torture-lite, as Maia, author of the book, 'Help at Any Cost' calls it.

If people knew how rampant this was, esp John McCain, i think he would act.  This is why bills die- no one extensively supporting the bill and seeing it moves along, see here

Even if EICA dies, at least we wil have created a something around this issue and attempted to garner support from Congress people who are concerned.

so.... anyone on board?

Its' true, congress needs fringe support from us before they can stick their necks out...it takes consesus building and I think we can do that...if we get over the mind control element first...the conflicted feelings, the conviction with whcih we feel we were 'saved' even it was abusive.

The human mind is so ...frail.  That's what I have been taught by this industry...just how EASY you can trun someone into whomever you want, just by torturing (lite) them... but you have to continue to torment for that to continue

It seems a lot of people aren't connecting the dots ... WWASPS and CEDU came after the drug rehab cults of the 70's The Seed (which was a government sponsored mind fuck) and later Straight, Inc (a spin off of The Seed) were shut down.

Added all together, literally thousands of America's youth have been held captive at one time or another by persons with a hard on for abusing kids for fun and profit.
