Does anyone know why Discovery Academy in Utah is on the ISAC "watch list?"

Thanks: I had already looked on both of those sites.
ISAC has Discovery Academy on the "watch list," but there are no articles there giving the reasons WHY.
I read through most of the DIscovery Academy Forum and, although there are many references made to "reporting to ISAC" the reason for being on the "watch list" is not state there, either.

Perhaps an email to ISAC will provide the information. Thanks, again.

I contacted ISAC about the reason they have Discovery Academy on the watch list.  The reason stated to me was that there was "credible evidence" of a sexual assautlt that took place in March of 2005.  They also stated that because of privacy laws in the state of Utah that there was no documentable evidence to publish on the site.  Therefore the alleged event is just that, alleged.

And you would have ISAC post a minor (in age) victim's sexual assault information on the internet - so as to give more weight to the allegation?
Or What?
Are you saying such an allegation is not significant enough to bear watch list status?
Or What?

I have a question - is Discovery Academy one of Susan's pet programs?

Where are the documents?  Where is the proof?  ISAC publishes lots of documents regarding these types of incidents.  It's just curious that there is no news article or anything on the document page.

If it was explained to you that there has been a credible allegation of sexual assault - that the supportive documents may not be made public - and you still don't understand - then you are one dim bulb.

You can't possibly be a parent.  You must be either trolling or affiliated with a Program or Ed Cons.

If you require proof positive of abuse before taking a kid out of a facility, school, or summer camp, then you shouldn't be entrusted with a goldfish, much less a child.

I'm a parent, and of course I know the other parents in my community.  *None* of them, if they heard a kid was recently raped or otherwise sexually assaulted at the school their kid was at would say "prove it" before getting their kid out.

Unless the allegation was proven *false*, or the suspect was suspended immediately and fired if he couldn't be cleared (or, if a student, expelled), they would get their kids right out of there.

Might depend on whether the alleged victim was the same gender as their kid.

If it was a public school and they didn't get the suspect out of there, pronto, there would be some school board members losing their jobs in the next election cycle.

The only *potential* exception would be if legally the school couldn't remove a suspect kid.

Again, the key word here is "alleged".  Nothing has been "proven" true or false.  ISAC has received information that they deem "credible" which at this point is heresay.

So, being hearsay you feel it is fine to ignore it?

You don't think it is worth being aware of - worth "watching"?

I think you are just trying to find any kind of excuse to ignore the evidence that is before you.

Why? I don't know - but you seem to be very purposefully obtuse.

My take on it: By now if there was not "some truth to the evidence ISAC has" the owners of Discovery Academy would have filed some type of legal documents to DEMAND that ISAC remome Discovery Academy from the "watch list."
ISAC does not arbitarily or independently make the decision place a facility on the "watch list."
