After being raped at Straight I found out that there are no statutes of limitations in the state of Florida that allow for the traumatic amnesia factor (victim becomes aware of crime or is negatively effected by crime years or months later). I have a very reputable doctor who has diagnosed me with this illness having only just recalled the horrid things that happened to me at Straight Inc.

I have the case number and everything. The dectective of the Rape and/or Child Victim's Units or whatever its called informed me that they can't proceed with prosecution because all of my statutes have run out at the age of eighteen and because these are not capital offenses b/c it all happened after the age of eighteen. She said she was not aware of any other statutes or anything they could do to fulfill what should otherwise happen.

If I do find some statutes I would like to expose Pinellas Park Police department because they have not therefore done their job but colluded to allow any further statutes I might have to run out, and pursue the criminal convictions of persons from Straight Incorporated. I first reported a FULL victim witness statement in 2003. They have dragged this out and NEVER contacted me on how the investigation was going or whether or not they intended to pursue this or not.

When were you in the program? The reason you have probably not been contacted is because you first reported this rape in 2003. Repressed and recently recovered memories of a crime that happened many years ago, makes for a difficult case. I'm not saying that this is right, only that it happens all the time. Having a respected Dr. to back it all up makes very little difference. Most people have a hard time with the " recovered memory" thing. Don't really see how it is the police departments problem that the statues have run out though.You also said that no one ever contacted you to let you know whether or not they would even pursue this case. Just curious to know what exactly did YOU do after your intitial report? Anything?

Oh heck yeah I did do alot of things. I reported it and memories just kept coming back to me with the help of meds and a licensed counselor as given to me by the state of Florida. I was in Straight for over two years in Pinellas obviously, but it was in the 80s. Okay, so memories keep coming back to me. I had three attorneys give me semi-commitments over the last two or three years including several highbrow attorneys and another out of Miami. They all can't surmount the issues of the statutes. When I tell them I was raped they don't believe it and when I mention these things they don't buy it even though eveyrone knows they happened. What did I do since then? Tried school and work but I'm still messed up and can't focus very well without tutors and disability accomodations.

I read somewhere that there are statutes that show the victim's statutes don't begin to toll away until they become aware of the crime or when the victim begins to experience the repressed memory. What of this?

Fuck PPPD.  Those bastards robbed me of $300 one time merely because I had a drug suspect riding in my car.  They found no drugs or paraphernalia, yet they threatened to seize my car if I didn't sign over the cash.  Basically, a group of armed men demanded money from me and threatened to take my car as well if I did not comply with their wishes. I call that fucking robbery.

Actually it was in a fairly upscale commercial district, and the "friend" was a middle aged caucasian.  I still drive there, often high as fuck, but not with my friend, as he is currently serving part of a sentence for distribution of heroin.

Just because they don't think the can prove it doesn't mean they don't believe you. Maybe they don't. It's just such a bizare set of circumstances that most ppl who haven't lived it have a hard time wrapping their minds around it. I take your word for it, though. That doesn't mean I could swear under oath that it happened. But I do believe you cause I know the circumstances, I know it happened, I knwo it happened over and over again to different people, why not you?

They offered NO ADVICE.
They wanted to know:Do you or do you not want to claim that you were molested when you were a child.I declined because I was not sure if the toilet thing was sexual abuse.

It's called Traumatic Amnesia. There are worse diagnoseze than this by doctors where the victim does not remember due to more than just T. Amnesia. That's how. Your sentiments are not researched and normative. Many boys who are booty fucked by priests are told by that same priest that if they tell their parents they'll get in trouble and go to hell, or that what the priest is doing is part of penance or church religion and so should be kept private. These acts alone make for subconscious burial of the act into forgetfulness.

Many of us, even those who were raped, tried to contact higher authorities and guardians but were shut down, further whoopt or secluded in isolation, and further told to shutup about it.
