If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs--Is Is

Stereolab- Fractal Dream of a Thing (This is the only ok song on Chemical Chords. As for the rest of this album, if I wanted to hear shit like this, I'd listen to Sergio Mendez. It appears Stereolab may have nothing left to offer.)

That Yeah Yeah Yeahs EP a few more times........my favorite disc nowadays!!!

A kind of strange thing has been happening lately -- bands I 'randomly' select to get more into or revisit (or both), suddenly come out with new albums! It's like a premonition of a horse that's going to win or something! It happened with Wilco; I had no idea they were going to be putting out a new record when i decided for whatever reason to pull out that old tape of Being There, and it just happened again with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.....

Traffic--The Definitive Collection

Joe Strummer(former Clash frontman)_from the Global A Go-go album: "Johnny Appleseed"(this song is made even more interesting to me in light of the Colony Collapse Disorder that the honey bees are suffering.  Part of the chorus is ..."...if you're out to get the honey then you don't go killin all the bees..."...which is also the last line of the song.  This song was released in 2001, which, as far as I know, is before the CCD began. Tragically, Joe Strummer died in 2002, at the height of his second wind.

also, from the same album: "Cool'n' Out", "Global A Go-go", "Bhindi I Bhagee", "Gamma Ray"

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers_"Breakdown", live, off 'a'  Pack Up the Plantation.  Love how the audience comes on to Tom's tease by pickin up the vocal for the first verse.  That is cool.  The audience makes it clear that this is a meaningful song to them and that rules.  That is what it's all about.

I remember when I heard that for the first time on the radio way, way back when.  Finally picked it up on vinyl the other day for a buck.  Long live Rock.

Billy Bragg and Wilco_Mermaid Ave, vol. 1

A good buddy 'a' mine made this cd for me years ago and I just never really listened to it yet.  He was big into Woody Guthrie and so the Mermaid Ave cds he gave me came as part of a group of cds by Woody and some Woody Guthrie covers by different bands etc.  I focused on the Woody Guthrie stuff and ended up confused about the connection to Wilco, but the wikipedia link you hooked me to cleared that up.  Now I get it.
