If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

I pulled out the Roxy Music box set Friday, great stuff.  Just a little while ago my wife had to suffer through my acoustic version of "The Thrill of It All".

Yep!  Especially when I get out the "'Pop Hits of the '70's" songbook and interpret classics like "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)", "Billy, Don't Be a Hero", "Seasons in the Sun""MacArthur Park" or "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo", all sung in a passable Tom Waits impression.

Quote from: "RTP2003"

Mick Jagger & Ry Cooder--"Memo From Turner"

Sing along, y'all!

Didn't I see you down in San Antone on a hot and dusty night?
We were eating eggs in Sammy's
When the black man there drew his knife
Aw, you drowned that Jew in Rampton
As he washed his sleeveless shirt
You know, that Spanish-speaking gentlemen
The one we all called "Kurt"

Come now, gentlemen, there must be some mistake
How forgetful I'm becoming, now you fixed your... binnis...straight

I remember you in Hemlock Road in nineteen fifty-six
You're a faggy little leather boy with a smaller piece of stick
You're a lashing, smashing hunk of man;
Your sweat shines sweet and strong
Your organs working perfectly, but there's a part that's not screwed on

Weren't you at the Coke convention back on nineteen sixty-five
You're the inbred, grey executive I've seen heavily advertised
You're the great, gray man whose daughter licks policemen's buttons clean
You're the man who squats behind the man who works the soft machine

Come now, gentlemen, your love is all I crave
You'll still be in the circus when I'm laughing, laughing in my grave

When the old men do the fighting and the young men all look on
And the young girls eat their mothers meat from tubes of plasticon
Be wary of these my gentle friends of all the skins you breed
They have a tasty habit - they eat the hands that bleed

So remember who you say you are and keep your noses clean
Boys will be boys and play with toys so be strong with your beast
Oh Rosie dear, doncha think it's queer, so stop me if you please
The baby's dead, my lady said, "you gentlemen, why, you all work for me"

Yeah, where is "the inbred, grey executive I've seen heavily advertised"?  I smell him...tell him what the lady said - "You schmucks - well, you all work for me"

Hey Zen, how goes things?  Thanks for posting the lyrics.  I've always liked the Jagger/Ry Cooder version from the movie "Performance" (damn weird, check it out if ya haven't seen it, kiddies......) better than the Rolling Stones' version, which I heard on the singles box set they put out about 15 years ago or so.    The lyrics are great--Jagger calling someone a "faggy little leatherboy with a smaller piece of stick" is priceless.

So anyway, here's what's been on my audio menu lately

Black Angels--Directions To See A Ghost

David Bowie--Station To Station

Chrome--Read Only Memory

Black Sabbath--Volume 4

Muddy Waters--Hard Again

Taking the dirty dog to JAX today............looking forward to getting outta here..........
