That's one they rarely play live, and it's kind of an "event" when they do, like the Dead with the song "St. Stephen" or Dinosaur Jr. with "Freak Scene".

The album art for "Tyrrany" is awesome, but the cover of "Secret Treaties", with the ME-262 emblazoned with Kronos symbols (the "question mark cross" BOC logo)is my favorite of the two.  I also like the bogus liner notes that talk about secret treaties between the "Plutonian Ambassador" and "Desdanova The Foreign Minister" which culminated in "Astronomy, the Career of EviL".  When I was a kid, I spent hours in libraries looking for Rossignol's "Origins of A World War", unsuccessfully.

Ah...I failed to note its inner sleeve; and I would have to agree.

All in all, I have to say that I like Secret Treaties more than I like Tyranny and Mvtation.

Yeah, I'd have to agree, Secret Treaties is more to my liking, but Tyrrany and Mutation is a damn good record.

One of the reasons for my undying love for BOC is that I used to "rock out in my head" to them all the time in Straight.   It helped to keep me going when I was misbehaving/ not complying.  I remember a kid came in with a Kronos symbol tattooed on his forearm, Ryan Fr***n, I think was his name.  Just seeing that logo helped me maintain some sort of psychic connection to "my past".  I would sometimes call out for "ME-262" or "Godzilla" when staff would say "Let's have a song....."   Yep, Buck Dharma & Co. helped me get through Straight.  My thanks, Blue Oyster Cult.

The song is called "Palmcorder Yajna".  It's fucking great.  The guy lived in Tampa for a year and wrote an album about it.  If it's anything like this tune, it's a pretty good indication of what that must be like.  Never lived there, other than a few times in Steraight, but have visited it enough to know it's hellish, hellish, hellish.

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

more Mountain Goats.  This guy is a fucking genius.  Can't get enough of the low-fi cleverness, great lines, low-budget, the man is truly an artiste......

"Palmcorder Yajna" gets a six on a scale of 1-5, it's that damn good......at least I think so today.  Ask me tomarrow, things might have changed by then.
