I cannot see how a man of any large degree of humorous perception can ever be religious -- unless he purposely shut the eyes of his mind and keep them shut by force.

Well, is there a football game on? A replay? No, nothing big? Then they're playing video football. Unless the benevolent dictator has influenced them to play Harry Potter instead. There's C-Span/CNN type educational sound going on.

Nice seein' your Steelers take out Payton & Co., but I think their season's gonna end at Mile High. The Big Game?  Birds over Ponies, 35-28.

(gametime)Jan.22,3p.m.

Steelers have the best road record in the league. In the last 2 seasons they're 18-3 on the road.  Broncos are good but if the Steelers come ta play like they did against the Colts aint nobody gonna beat 'em.  Broncos could win but they will have to have a good game and the Steelers will have to play poorly for that to happen.  The big game ??  Steelers over the Seahawks...I don't know...28-24 or somethin' like that.

Hey!...have fun and enjoy...

Man suffered attack when Steelers' Bettis fumbled

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Talk about a heart-stopping game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts.

Terry O'Neill, 50, of Pittsburgh, was watching the game at a bar and had a heart attack seconds after Jerome Bettis fumbled trying to score from the 2-yard line late in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger prevented the Colts' Nick Harper from returning the recovered ball for a touchdown and the Steelers hung on for a 21-18 win.

O'Neill said Bettis is his hero.

"I wasn't upset that the Steelers might lose," he told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "I was upset because I didn't want to see him end his career like that. A guy like that deserves better. I guess it was a little too much for me to handle."

O'Neill, who was recovering at a hospital, credits two firefighters with saving him.

"The Steelers won the game and I'm still alive, so I guess I'm doing pretty good," he said.

He will have a pacemaker implanted to control an irregular heartbeat and he was prescribed medication to deal with the hypertension.

While he would like to go to the bar Sunday for the game against the Denver Broncos to thank the guys who saved him, O'Neill said, "I guess I should probably take it easy and watch the game at home."

Pittsburgh is a drinkin town w/ a football problem.

The plans of true believers for our lives may well be better than our own when judged against some abstract official standard, but to deny people their personal struggles is to render existence absurd.

No, no. I mean every medical office, every bank lobby, every Main street and around half the people therin and some of the dogs too, all decked out in black and gold the day before the last game. Some of them two days ahead. And they really do get out of sorts if you don't at least say something encouraging, but they really prefer if you shout it.

I gave my future ex son in law a Bengals tshirt for Christmass w/ a card saying "Here's that ass kickin' you got commin'"

What is this new loyalty? It is, above all, conformity. It is the uncritical and unquestioning acceptance of America as it is. It rejects inquiry into the race question or socialized medicine or public housing, regards as heinous any challenge to what is called the system of private enterprise, identifying that system with Americanism. It abandons evolution, repudiates the once popular concept of progress, and regards America as a finished product, perfect and complete. The concept of loyalty as conformity is a false one. It is narrow and restrictive, denies freedom of thought and conscience... What do men know of loyalty who make a mockery of the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights?
