Hey Matt,

I still remember meeting you after Straight and hanging out with you around 90-91. You remember that Austin Healey I bought from you? I had that car for about 8 years before someone rear-ended me in Florida. Even then the car still drove well. I replaced the motor and the transmission within about 3 months of buying it from you, and from then on the car ran awesome. Good to hear you are still around and doing well. You can try e-mailing me at my link below.

Aloha,

I know I've asked this question before, but since there are new people here who seem to be from this time period, indulge me.

Does anyone remember Bob Sc*l*s, early 80s?  I hadn't been there long at all.  He had tatoos on both arms and Straight made him get them removed.  At that time tatoo removal consisted of shaving of the skin layer by layer until the ink was gone.  Extremely painful.  He came back with his arms bandaged up with the blood visibly seeping through....a lot.  Either the same day of the procedure or the next day they sat him in the back of group and made him motivate!![/b]  It was awful.  I just couldn't understand how anyone could do that to another person.  I just felt so disheartened.  I mean if they could do this, they were capable of far worse.  Boy was I right.

Enlighten the people generally, and tyranny and oppression of both mind and body will vanish like evil spirits at the dawn of day

bob was my newcomer and a really good friend for awhile until he just vanished from the 7 step society....no they didn't force him to get them removed...he chose to do so!....but yes he did sit in group a day or so later.they let him sleep in the infirmary after the surgery too....somthing i had never or rarly ever seen in my whole "tenure" there....hippie564
