Back when I was in elan if you laughed they would just keep making you knock over and over and over... Theres one girl Ill never forgot god bless her as shes passed away, her name was Lynn K she could never take a haircut with out busting up... I remember bitting the sides of my mouth so I wouldnt laugh now that I look back on that it was funny....
As far as God and Religeon at elan I tend to think they thought they were the Religeon and that is all we needed... Though I still believe that they took the copping to your guilt part from the Catholic Church  :scared:  remember guilt kills????

Elan used to let students go to church every Sunday, had to get up at 9:00am and you couldn't make up for your 2 hours lost sleep. I think anyone was allowed to go as long if there was strength.

Ok the late 90's to now ,,,, that I can believe, not back in the 70's it just wasnt heard of. Although I dont think it would of killed them to let kids go to church... :roll:
