Just thought I'd pop in to confirm a few things from previous posts. It seems this site is as pitiful as ever. Thank goodness most people have moved on, just as I have. Perhaps one day even kpickle and 85 day will move on. Antigen is still hacking onward providing her own virtual Straight hell. I guess it's true that victims seem compelled to perpetuate the abuse.

To all those new to the board, you'll find no peace, closure, or revenge here. This is just virtual Straight. All your presence here can do is prevent any of the previous things. Above all else, for god's sake, post anonymously. What you say can and will be used against you. Remember you're dealing with Straightlings, there's a reason why you lost touch with most/all of them in the first place.

Don't worry about posting anything in response for my detriment, as I won't be returning. Consider me graduated. I just had to stop in one last time to confirm that I too once sat in the blue chairs you're all choosing to still sit in.

Bye!

No, probably not Brian. But come on now, back of group? As in staff? Former staff?

And why do the hostile trolls come out enforce whenever we start to get close to mainstream attention? Honestly, I don't know what motivates this sort of infighting. But I often wonder if they're litterally doing it to protect Program secrets.

I don't believe in God. My god is patriotism. Teach a man to be a good citizen and you have solved the problem of life.

I rather liked the first post. Sounds like an intelligent person. Not necessarily agreeing with the whole thing, but jeezo, everybody gotta be so defensive of fornits? Gawd. Hey, O.P., you come back & see this post, drop me a line. SOME people don't mind chatting like grown-ups. Maybe you won't be as paranoid as the rest of all these pro Straightling fornits Straight re-creators. Howzzat. A real convo with a real person once in Straight not afeared of a little difference in opinion.

No, not at all. It's a common problem and still a mystery. Some people think we all just blocked everything as a self defense mechanism. I can sort of buy that to some extent. I was very conciously, intentionally trying to keep everyting at arm's length, constantly reminding myself that the torid stories and crocodile tears were mostly made up and none of my business anyway.

But I don't think that explains it all. The moments I remember w/ clarity are things like the one time in a sort of goof off kind of rap when I got to play guitar. That was one of the few times I cried real hot tears. I couldn't fucking play! I decided not to take a chance on House of the Rising Sun; too risque for the potentially angry mob. So I picked Amazing Grace.

I knew the chords, I knew the rythm--could hear it in my head. But my hands had forgotten how to dance. It scared the living SHIT out of me! I just sat there wondering wtF was happening to me. Never did really pick it up again, either, though I still have my trusty old Epiphone in need of new strings gently weeping in the corner.

Come to think of it, that may have been the impetus for my first split. See, I can't recall. I remember the foster home I split from and who picked me up hitchhiking; Pete's brother and his Pentacostal friends on the way to Jesus `81 in Orlando. And I remember being back in group. But I don't remember how I got back there. I can't even be sure which split goes with what details.

Some people do remember every detail. Maybe it's coincidence, but it seems to me those are the ones who believed Straight saved their lives for a number of years and those who stayed in the Program by way of stepcraft or the "helping" professions.

Now was that a waste of time to read or write? More than that, why come around trying to poison the well just as we're getting a decent bite on the line? Why would you want everyone to quit talking now?

It may be that our role on this planet is not to worship God, but to create him.

Awww Ant. you break my heart with your sad guitar story and how the joy in your dancin' hands which you had known before str8 was taken from you.  :smokin:  :skull:

Sometimes i even think that music is the highest art.  The purest expression of ones deepest self. i think some of the most intimate and beautiful and clear communications that i have had with people have been through playin' music. The way str8 took that from you pisses me off.  i'm so sorry that they did that to you.  They had no right.

Ok, well let me cheer you up then. I remember another rap in that same room. Same kinda thing, sort of a goof off rap. Did they ever have those when you were there? It was a nice break from the total morosity and relatively low risk of turning into a come down rap. (group confrontation for the outlanders).

It was a joke rap. They called on people to tell a joke. And a rythm of query gags grew out of it; query [pause] punchline. So I got called on (one of the few times I really wanted to get called on). I asked "How do you keep a whole room full of morons in suspense?" then waited the appropriate time, deciding who to call on, then looked around like 'what am I doing here?' and sat down.

Little by little, ppl caught on, except for Robin, who was leading the rap. As everyone else is laughing their asses off, she's up there going "Well, how do ya? How do you keep ... wait... I don't get it, what's the punchline? Stand up and tell it again." (I think she was a new trainee) So I stood up, turned to the audience and asked "How do you keep an idiot in suspense?" then did the same routine.

Never got any shit for it, that I know of. That's probably the best gamblin' story I got.

Comedy ain't half bad either. He who laughs lasts.

There is so much in the bible against which every insinct of my being rebels, so much so that I regret the necessity which has compelled me to read it through from beginning to end. I do not think that the knowledge I have gained of its history and sources compensates me for the unpleasant details it has forced upon my attention.

Not sure if this is in line with the original topic but I just posted this on another thread.  does it make any sense or am I too tooted?  Mainly the longest paragraph.  The first is just childish arguing on mine and his part.

OK, I'll ask again since you seem unable, or unwiling to answer. What have I EVER done that is remotely considered "Pro-Straight"??? Anything, give me anything at all. I've presented this challenge to you before but you choose to ignore it...wonder why???  If it's true, I'll cop to it. If not, you'll be proven for the liar that you are.

Small steps.  It took a long time to get to this mindset, it's gonna take a while to get over it.

What exactly do you think whatever it is we're doing will acomplish? So you really think Sembler and Newt will go to prison???? Not a chance. Too many "friends" in high places and the statute of limitations has run out. I don't care what you say, I've worked for plenty of attorneys and I've gone back and asked ALL of them (especially the ones whose opinions I respet) and NONE of them have said that we have a case. They all sypathize with what we went through and a few distiguised and reputable really wish they could help. They're still looking for a way around the Statue of Limitations and other ways of subverting them, but it doesn't look promising. Maybe a few years back, but not now as it looks. If you've got a way to get around that, GO FOR IT!!! Hell, he's tried to run for Mayor of Mad Beach but was shot down. I've said before that I'm satisfied with Newt not being able to live in peace. His main goal in life is to be well respected in the community and the "go to guy" with all the answers to parents with kids who have 'problmes' (like all kids don't have some kinds of problems). He's ANYTHING but!! NO ONE takes him seriously, even the Antiochian church from what I understand...no prooof, just what I've heard. They tend to distance themselves from him. Shit, his neighbors even hate him and they knew nothing of his past with us until we told them at the planning hearing. They couldnt' stand him for the fact that he is a controlling asshole who thinks he can do whatever he pleases (sound familiar? did whatever the fuck he wanted with us) and then when they found out what he did to us, and now he's trying to do it with his "church" (what a joke that place is!!! Holy shit...they were PISSED. Espcially Lee Drury DeCesare (sp) [her story is on Wes' site somewhere]. She's also the widow (I think, or wife of a former mayor), which incidentally Newt ran for unseccessfully...he brought up the other candidate's drinking which was definitely NOT a problem..social drinker and Newt caught hell for it. DeCesare wields a fair amount of influence there. She ain't scared of anyone and walked right up to him at the planning hearing and questioned him about breaking somone's leg (the someone was standing right there with Lee). He looked at the girl and said......and I quote "No, not HERS"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not HERS????????? Oh, yeah some other girl's but not HERS??????????? How can he say shit like this and still be considered a "priest"???

Personally speaking, I like the get togethers, whether or not people "partake' (in alcohol or any other substances) Gives me a chance to catch up on people I only talk to on the phone or by PM or email. I've had some really fantastic conversations with people who don't take drugs, drink or anything at all and haven't for quite some time. I really mean that, you don't have to be a 'stoner', for lack of a better word. We welcome and value everyone's input! Sorry if you feel left out, but, and I don't mean this to sound catty or rude, but if you feel left out it seems to be your problem to solvel, not everyone elses to accomodate your "needs" as Ginger so eloquently put it. You don't have to be involved in things you don't want to. There is plenty going on that does NOT involve drugs of any kind.
