To the Parents

Hi. Im Dustin Kava.  I was at Ivy Riot from Oct 04 to June 05.  I was the one who organized and took place in the Riot that took place recently.  I am still awaiting all the court bullshit that came along with my decision to do what i did.  But if i had the oppurtunity to go back i wouldnt.  I did what i thought had to be done.  How many times can you see a friend get his ass kicked for no reason at all.  How many times can you get a letter from your parents telling you how great the school is. When you yourself acually knows what goes on there.  Every aspect of that school is a hoax.  The education i mean come on.  just look at what happened.  They lied about being accredited.  How do you make one of your main points of advertising is the crediation of the school.  My parents through 60 grand into this school and all i got was Felong 1st Riot Criminal Mischief and assault.  How many months can you go without hearing your moms voice. Or seeing your sister or brothers.  Whats the incentive to get out with you know you are going to be living with Programized parents who have been fed bullshit propoganda about WWASP schools.  NOw i understand that i am a child and i dont have kids of my own. so i dont know what it is like to be in that situation where you dont know what to you do with your kids.  But still how can you make such a big decision in your and your childs life without doing some major major research. I mean come on parents look into these damn schools do some f ing research before hand. How hard is it to type in google IVY RIDGE past expeirences or something and find out straight from the kids who have been there what it is like.  Not some asshole on the phone pitching you the new and improved sales pitch that Mr. Jason Finlinson came up with on his way to work.  Look into the staff that is going ot be working with the kids.  I found out lots about the staff that was working there. Many have outstanding criminal records.  One of my dorm parents that i had was in prison for like 8 years for the attempted murder of his wife. I mean come on how are these people going to teach you to live a honest and prospours life.  Ive never felt more humilatied in my life then when i was at that school. Feelings of such helplessness and lonelyness.  Just do your research before you make quite possibly the worst decision ever in your life

Welcome Dustin! I'm so glad to hear from you.
I share your frustration. Amazing, isn't it? I've been watching this same old song and dance now for around 35 years, since my family got wrapped up in one of these treatment cults. But then again, step back and look at a few other lunatic ideas that people are just in love with. Public schooling, anyone? The war on certain unpatentable drugs not sold by Glaxo/Smith-Kline? Perpetual war just as Orwell told us about? When you stop to think about it in the broader context, it just makes terrifyingly perfect sense, doesn't it?

I tried sending letters to you guys at the St. Lawrence jail, but all but one came back.

Aside from the criminal stuff yet to play out, how did everyone make out? Is it true that most of the guys landed up in Jamaica? Are you in touch w/ any of them? Did anyone else make it out more or less OK?

I knew there had to be a good reason for that riot when I read about it. Knowing what I do from my experience in a treatment hell hole (Straight Inc), I knew it was probably justified. I understand and remember very well the loneliness, humiliation, and helplessness you mentioned...and the abuse.

Of course, the court system may not see things from your perspective, but I understand very well why you fought back. Sooner or later people need to see institutionalized child abuse and brainwashing for what it is. Hope you have a good attorney and that the judge doesnt come down too hard on you in court. Good luck with that. I look forward to hearing more details when you can provide them.

I have been out of the program for over 5 years now and still can't believe these places exist.

You know the truth, don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. You lived it. You know it.

And now you know one of suburbias deepest darkest secrets: there is an underground network of cultist parents searching for new 'recruits' to make a buck and indoctrinate another family into their sick game.

The responsible parties will always plead ignorance. This is no excuse, like you said they need to be responsible and do their research.

Now they will have their own demons to deal with, and spend their life trying to convince themselves they did the right thing.

My friend, I could not agree with you more. I too was a student in one of these hellholes(cedu) 13 years ago, and your experience at Ivy Ridge mirrors my own, despite our obvious age difference and the fact that we attended different schools.  

Non-existant academics, abusive staff members with long criminal records, substandard living conditions, shitty food,isolation, complete alienation from family,friends, and reality, no freedom of movement, non-existance of even the most basic human rights,forced labor, sleep deprivation, non-stop humiliation...

These conditions are familiar to anyone who ever spent anytime in one of these bullshit BM money scams; regardless of who they are or when they were incarcerated.

Like you Dustin, I too saw these hypocrites for the monsters that they are.  I refused to buy into their bullshit, or to let them break me.  I rebelled from day one, and I ran and ran and ran, until finally they couldn't catch me, and I got out for good.  

Dustin, I could only dream of doing what you did back in my day.  Unfortunately, I was surrounded by sheep: people who were too scared to make a stand and take their lives back.  I couldn't help my friends, but I did help myself.  I split, took my life back, and to this day I credit that decision as one of the defining moments of my life.

Dustin what you did is remarkable, and don't ever let anyone take that away from you.

Most all mine got sent back too - and the last few had They Are NOT Here!!! written across the front!
I took that to mean a lot of people write and was glad of the fact even if the kids didn't get the letters.
