Isn't there anything we can do in court?

I have a question, the following article was in todays St. Pete times. Please read the following.

begin quote:

Priest, music teacher accused of sex abuse
By Times Staff
Published September 29, 2005

TAMPA - Two more lawsuits have been filed against Tampa's Mary Help of Christians School, accusing a priest and a music teacher of sexually abusing boys in their care.

Eight suits now have been filed since 2002 accusing priests or teachers of child molestation. The two recent suits were filed Tuesday in Hillsborough Circuit Court.

One says the plaintiff enrolled in the school in 1980 for the sixth grade. On 20 or more occasions starting in September 1982, a music teacher sexually abused him, the suit says.

Years after the music teacher left the school in 1984, he continued to have a sexual relationship with the plaintiff, the suit says.

The second suit says the plaintiff enrolled in the school in 1989 in the sixth grade.

After catching the boy urinating behind the school, a priest called him to the back of the altar and prayed while he fondled the boy, the suit says.

Both suits say the plaintiffs suffered psychological damage. Each seeks more than $5-million in damages from defendants, the Salesian Society and Mary Help of Christian Schools.

end quote.

Ok, one thing that struck me when I read it was the plaintiffs suffered psychological damage! Isn't that what happend to us? Also this case goes back to 1982 when the plaintiff entered school? And don't you think unlawful child inprisonment is a crime, not to mention all the other fucked stuff they did to us collectivly

What I don't understand is why can they have a case in this situation "1982" and conversly we are told we can't because we have passed the statute of limitation?

I think their lawyer thinks they can win, so what gives. What is difference about this case.

There has to be a way.

society(people) refuses to recognize invisible rape.  Something like a sexual assault or a battery are the physical aspects of a psychological invasion.  The reason a sexual assault like rape or a battery are such dreadful crimes is because of what the criminal does to the victims' mind.  The body will heal, if it can, a whole lot sooner than the mind, which may never heal.  The physicality of that kind of a rape validates it somehow to society.  We were completely removed from society.  Locked up and isolated and we were raped in an invisible way.  The criminal invasion of our minds was psychologically no different than a sexual assault rape.

i have never been sexually raped and so i don't really know what that is like.  i mean no disrespect but i have this theory none the less.

i liked your post.  You are right on !! [ This Message was edited by: starry-eyed pirate on 2005-09-29 12:26 ]

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

Pirate,

I agree with you, it's and invisible abuse and hard to explain but no less real.

From what I understand the Statute of Limitations is being challenged in Florida. Perhaps that is the angle. I really hope we get our day in court. I just spoke with someone a few minutes ago that hopefully will post more.

If there are any legal people out there, how can the aove posted suit about abuse fly when it's from 1982 and the abuse we had, including in some cases rape not fly?

Take care all..............

YES, be there for the TRIAL April 11, 2006, pack the court room you will see Mel and Betty in person, see them testify under oath about Straight.

Anyone can attend, there is no charge to watch Mel and Betty lie like hell on the stand.

The media will be there filming the trial.

For the life of me I don't understand why the people that don't like Bush, aka Kerry to Moore don't run with this story. It's like a made to be movie. All of it true yet it still can't be touted by the press.

Why?

Hell you hear about people looking for a smoking gun issue to get political oponents stoped. We have HRS saying it abusive, the program an Embasodor had founded. Their own words. They have admited it. And still the story doesn't fly.
