Therapy?
« on: September 26, 2005, 09:10:00 PM »
A friend of mine asked about what kind of therapy our facility used and Im not really sure. Does anyonw know if there is a sepcific kind of therapy WWASP programs (Cross Creek Manor specifically) uses? I know seminars are part of the therapy and Ive heard stuff about seminars and where they originated from and all that, but I forgot most of the info. If anyone can assist on that, that would be really great. Thanks!

WWASP seminars are, in fact, Lifespring seminars. Gilcrese, who created the seminars for WWASP, was a Lifespring trainer. So was Litchfield, I believe. Lifespring was classified as a cult.

Be that as it may, no one calls the seminars  therapy. And WWASPS schools vary in their therapy approach. Most have licensed therapists. Some have it as an option, according to what the parents want.

Ask any kid about those WWASPIE seminars and you will soon figure out why there needs to be federal regulations banning the use of LGAT seminars for children under the age of 18.

It's very troubling that these seminars are a prerequisite for children progressing through the program.

Worse still, it appears the adults who participate develop a near religious affectation for the PROGRAM who they perceive as omnipotent.

Sick, Sick, Sick.

Is she back? Are you still seeing her? Do you notice any differences?

Of course she is back. Of course she was diffrent. They bent her and twisted her. She has some odd views now. But they did not break her I would not say thank god. Occationally we get in a argument over the school. She thinks it was not that bad and it helped her. Sometimes she spouts program speach and I correct her. ::shrugs:: I'm just gald she is back.

Casa is not the same place as CSA from what I understand. I think you two are talking about two different places.

indeed, CSA not casa... I would think there would be abuse at Casa anyway, because well it was shut down by the Mexican government. I mean come on. The mexicans shut them dow. It must of been bad if they took the time to give a rats ass about American kids.

CSA offers independent therapy at a cost of $75.00 a pop. It is performed by a licensed therapist. She seems o.k., but is not available to discuss your child very often. My experience was that she was not bad, but just not very interested. At least she had a degree......

Sondra Scott at Cross Creek told us how we were like different wildlife.  Be like the grey wolf, don't do drugs or have sex.  Not sure exactly what type of therapy that is....zootherapy?
