that sounds like new age bullshit to me.  next you'll be telling me my weakness is my greatest strength just to make my head explode.  I've had enough of those words.  I don't believe people can or should pick and choose their emotions to suit them.  Some people had a really awful time being sent away, they don't want to get over it, and they shouldn't have to.  They have every right to be angry.  Maybe everything happens for a reason to teach you something, build character, whatever, but the truth is in this country, children have no rights, and if one's anger is the only thing pushing them to make a change, then I say stay livid  :flame:

Personally i think SOME of the people that are negative about just choose to be and choose not to uase anything that was taught.  on the other hand i see how they can feel like that from the way i see the school was changed and the way the students were being treated.  i would never say that i love the whole experienc that i had but i choose to use the tools i was taught and it has made my life a lot better. i had a really hard time after i left. it got to the point where i almost died from putting so much cocaine up my nose.  when i left ai felt like i didn't have anything. no friends that understood what i went threw so i did what i knew from before to fit in.  after i made the choice to use the tools taught to me and not all of them just the ones that worked for me my life changed.  for the better.  so like i said it is all about choices.  and if you choose to be resentful then so be it but don't expect everyone to feel sorry for you.  and if you had such a horrible time whether it was abuse or meds etc. don't just bitch about it do something to help make sure that does happen to more students. get involved

You do have every right to be angry, stay angry.  I'm angry, you're angry, we're all angry, or we wouldn't be posting here.

The best part about CEDU is that it only took me 4 hours to get the hell out of there. I was cavity searched, and led to a room where they were having a meeting. This girl had gone on vacation for the first time, since she got there.  Apparently, her father had shot himself in the head while she was at school. She was apologizing for listening to music on her vacation.  They berated her by saying it was her fault he killed himself, because she wasn't there to spend time with him.
I faked passing out and told "whoever" that I had taken 14 sleeping pills. They took me to the nearest hospital. I don't remember what the term was for the kid who is suppost to be your "big sister", but I was her first one.  Anyway she came in to comfort me and I took her hostage with a scapple. It was a small hospital.

Unfortunately, I spent the next week in a state mental hospital in 5 point restraints, and the next 2.5 years in Desisto.  CEDU was a scary place.

I was 16.
Sorry for rambling on.

Wow what an experience!   Which intolerable dickhead was it that was guilt tripping the girl whose father committed suicide?  I can think of quite a few assholes who would have gone that route.

That's pretty fucked, it sort of reminds me of a story I heard about an RMA student. Something about his/her mother passing away and the school didn't even bother to tell them she had passed until a good two or three weeks after the funeral. Not sure if it's a true story, but apparently events like that pop up a lot when it comes to cedu.

I don\'t look at myself in the mirror because I\'m a narcissist, I simply like to watch myself exist...

Let's face it, the best part of CEDU is that it is done, over, gone.
