Thank you to whoever recommended the book ?An American Gulag.?  It was a good read and helped my family understand (somewhat) what I was put through.  Did anyone else here read it?

It's about the author's research of schools like Elan.  She calls these school "secret P.O.W. camps for teens.  She began a whole movement talking moms out of sending children to lock-up boarding facilities.  She discusses how this has become a whole money-making industry.  You can also check out her website http://teenliberty.org/

I don't know how much you will personally enjoy this, outlaw, because you don't seem too upset about your 2 year stay at Elan.  Other former students who were miserable there may be able to connect a little better.

It wasn't that I enjoyed Elan, it was that it was a better place than where I had been. People don't really understand, no big deal.

That place was  a awful way to teach kids.
You must of had no friends, Or your pretty darn stupid to think elan was no  big deal you should of opened your eyes alittle wider while you were there.Making kids stay up all night to watch other kids. yelling at one another in groups,
gee that place was great! get a life, that place was so fucked up!

It definitely was fucked up.  I used to love to stay up all night on the post because it meant I could sleep the next day through all the yelling matches (aka groups).  Also, I couldn?t get booked for any petty shit if I was sleeping all day.  It was the only ?escape? I had at Elan.

idiots.

Staying up all night and yelling at other retarded teenagers for flirting with eachother is the most ridiculously easy, stupid and harmless thing you will have to face in life.
If you still think this place was anything more than a joke, chances are you have no life and have never faced the real world.
Grow up, babies.
