Please let me know if this is the same place as VCA that all the bad things are posted about?  Some of the posts indicate they are one and the same.

any information you can send will be helpful.  My gd is only 14.

I was in Victory. Its the same thing. They changed
the name because there were a lot of bad things
going on about the school dealing with sexual assault, abuse things like that. So to protect their reputation, they changed it. The Cookstons were not there when i was there but they work there now- they came from the school in Baja that was shut down due to abuse and neglect. I was there for 3 years and after 5 years, still have a lot of problems due to it. I had nightmares up until recently frequently. I hope you talk to her mom and she really considers having her daughter staying there. Hope this helps. I came out very bitter and angry. Since my"release" i have been arrested for attempted murder, hit poeple i care about, and am in general really messed up. I was pretty calm before Victory (what the school was called when i was there).

I wanted to add that children should never be placed at facilities that deny reasonable contact between parents and their children.  They should not be placed in facilities in states that do not require licensing, like Florida, Missouri, or Utah.  They should not be placed in foreign facilities.  They should not be placed where the facility owners claim that they can "cure" a child's psychological or behavioral problems.

I just wanted to say that because when parents are looking for a place to put their children, they shouldn't JUST be shocked about abuse allegations.  They should also be shocked when there are warning signs like the ones I just talked about.

If your child is in a place and you can't be sure they are okay, THAT is the problem.  They should be somewhere close to home where you can drop in unannounced, and where the state checks up regularly.

Allow the President to invade a neighboring nation whenever he shall deem it necessary to repel an invasion, and you allow him to do so whenever he may choose to say he deems it necessary for such purpose, and you allow him to make war at pleasure. Study to see if you can fix any limit to his power in this respect, after having given him so much as you propose. If today he should choose to say he thinks it necessary to invade Canada to prevent the British from invading us, how could you stop him? You may say to him,--"I see no probability of the British invading us"; but he will say to you, "Be silent: I see it, if you don't."

No spamming, please!

It is the old practice of despots to use a part of the people to keep
the rest  in order; and those who have once got an ascendency and possessed themselves of  all the resources of the nation, their revenues and offices, have immense means  for retaining their advantages.

VCA was, in fact, just like a cult. I left after 5 months because on one of my mother's visits she was so infuriated with the way things were there and the fire-and-brimstone (shove it down your throat} sermons that she said she was done with it and that no girl deserved that sort of treatment.
ill never forget it there.
