Fornits has not shut programs down!

How many schools has fornits shut down? Zero! Are programs making allot of money? Yes! How many parents pay attention to people on this website? Very little! How much traffic does this website get? Very little! This website is really for people who despise programs that help struggling teens. This is very sad!

You're right. Fornits haven't shut down any programs. In fact, fornits don't even exist.

Fornits Home for Wayward Web Fora hasn't done much of anything. It's just a forum for discussion.  Just the paper and ink, so to speak, that people use to communicate. It is outside of the scope and purpose of this website to do much of anything except for one thing; to exist as an unbiased forum for absolutely anyone with any opinion about the troubled parent industry to communicate their knowledge and opinions about it, to whatever end.

That is not to say that the admins are unbiased. We all are graduates and/or former clients in this industry. The primary difference between us and people like Lon Woodbury or Sue Scheff is that we know that we are biased and try pretty hard to separate that bias from forum policy in order to give air to all sides and let the arguments stand by their own merit.

But some people who use fornits sure as shit have shut some programs down. They've also published books, produced movies, participated in litigation and legislative efforts as well as journalistic media efforts. Other people who use fornits certainly have participated in promoting the industry. Seems pretty clear to me, anyway, that some users actually make about a hundred times what I do every year off of the industry. You seem like one of those. Have I banned you? Nope. Don't need to. We can meet ideas with ideas. No need to squelch anything.

As a matter of fact Fornits  aim is to enlighten others, they never claimed to have the powers to actually shut organizations down. Plus not to mention both Administrators have taken more of their share of baby bullshit over the years. Personally I would not extend the same courtosy they have bestowed to many. I would tell half of them to go to hell and block their asses. Thank God they are impartial and decent. So, Kirstin knock off your confrontational bullshit unless you are doing something productive other than creating garbage threads and misguiding others into your twisted agenda. Ginger is more woman than you could ever hope in being and Michael is also just as awesome. To attack these two is seriously just another ploy in which to create drama. No one is falling for it either, we know and respect the Administrators here, so get fucken use to is. Personally, I was angry a time or two when I did not get my way, but you know what...they are fair. That is what Fornits is about. Plus they got lives, they should not have to be on 24/7 to damn babysit all the little nuts on here either. They cannot control some of these idiots. They do teach one good thing, freedom of expression. This is very important when so many have been forced to shut up too long. They teach us all a gift to use the damn voice God gave us, and if not for them to see their courage my God some things would still be baried. God Bless them and I pray they never stop doing us all the justice.

I think fornits has affected the industry on many levels.  In my opinion fornits was responsible for some parents pulling their kids from programs early… responsible for kids speaking out against staff who were abusive to them when they had nowhere else to vent or no one who would understand without judgement.  Fornits dissuaded some parents from placing their children in a program altogether …… fornits also convinced some parents that their kids should stay the full time after witnessing the hatred that those kids who never finished or applied themselves  had towards programs…….They learned that pulling a child early would result in worse behavior than if they never were placed….. Many placed their kids prematurely because didnt want their kids to become angry fornits posters.

I agree with SharonMcCarthy in that there has been much tolerance here to protect free speech.  There have been a few posters who were so antiprogram and closed minded that they could not engage in a proper conversation and their responses borderlined flooding and/or gave good reason to ban them.  But they were allowed to stay.  I have seen survivors flood the forum with pornography in an attempt to block a conversation with someone they did not agree with and they were not banned.  I have seen obvious lies against people and programs that went unchecked......  but it seems everyone stays and can come back another day to argue.

I feel everyone is biased to a certain degree and we just need to take that into consideration when we speak to them and try not to force people to change their way of thinking.  We all need to exercise tolerance.  Try to keep an open mind and dedicate each visit to fornits with the objective of learning something new.  Whether that be about ones self or someone else.

While Fornits has not shot programs down, it together with a lot of sources has made the foundation of the Wiki database.

Every time we discover a new program mentioned here, volunteers is send to investigate what can be found online about this individual program. If we find enough we create a datasheet.

The wiki is copied and are used in various countries in their local langauge so mistakes made here can be avoid.

Denmark is about 10-15 years behind the United States. Without foundation in statistic some of our politicians wants to lower the age of criminal responsibility from 15 to 14. Some did also want boot camps, but translated versions of some of the case descriptions did kill such proposals. Now where the industry was so kind to tell parents that they shouldn't feel bad about listening to the complaints from their children in programs as the parents of Jada Chabot was made to do in the public after Brat Camp, because children die in wilderness programs we have a new tool to limit the use of residential programs in Denmark.

I am quite happy to inform that a lot of kids have been recalled back home to their parents from placements the last year. The Danish industry have tried to create documentaries where they try to give proof that most parents are unable to parent their children but the reality is that residential treatment mostly is a result of a failed treatment in the family unit due to budget concerns. But the fact is that a town can be hit with a bill 10-100 times bigger than the one they could have got if they stepped in before the problems became too big. When a youth is hit with the 2 year long yout sanction the town has to pick up the bill of 10-15.000 dollars per month a secure residential program cost.

In fact the price for one placement can equal the swiming education for 6 months for all kids in a town.

We are happy that Fornits exist. The information given here can be processed and used everywhere.

Nothing can shut the program down in you trolls, either.  The lot of you (all one of you with many different names) are very well programmed, indeed.  If the program "cured" you, you should have put it behind you and be out living happy Capitalist lives.  Instead, your Stockholm Syndrome compels you to engage in the kind of obsessive behavior that would land you in a program again.  Real Fornits posters are making no claims of being cured by their time in programs, far from it.  They admit to being fucked up to this day by their experiences.  Obviously you programee trolls are, too, you're just in denial.
