Database glitch with read / unread posts?

Read/unread post indicators are a little funky lately. To get right to it, the indicators don't jibe with what I've read already. I sometimes post from different IP addresses, but I doubt this should make any difference at all concerning this. I'll leave the speculating to the admins..

I don't post from multiple IPs and have experience the same. Site has been 'down' alot lately too.

The 'read topics' function has been acting screwy again...

Anyone else notice this (and feel like explaining in more detail)? :)

Here's what I've noticed. If I read all new messages in a particular forum then click the link to return to that specific forum index, it shows messages have been read. Unless of course a new message was posted before I get back to the index.

If after reading all new messages, I click to go the the main index for Fornits forums it will not show that new messages were read.

Yeah, pretty much.. and in some cases it still shows unread when going back to the forum (and not the main page). Also, this problem seems to be intermittent while it is going on.

Always check post dates before you reply to something. It will save you from looking very stupid.

Any ideas as to what could cause read posts to show up as unread?

(Yes, it's still doing it - you have to click "Mark all topics read"..)

EDIT: And it only occurs sometimes.. ? Wtf? Weird...
