Another plus to watching Book TV is
discovering books that would not
normally interest me.
It was only after hearing the two
author's speak of their book, and
how intelligent that they represented
their process that I decided to buy
this book. It was one of the best
books that I ever read!
The King of California: J.G. Boswell and the Making of a Secret American Empire
Public Lives from February 1, 2004
Mark Arax and Rick Wartzman are journalists for the Los Angeles Times and the co-authors of "The King of California: J.G. Boswell and the Making of a Secret American Empire." It tells the story behind the Boswell family and their migration from Georgia to California in the 1920's and created a little-known cotton farm that today stretches 200,000 acres and is currently America's largest single-farmer grower of wheat, safflower and seed alfalfa. During this event, the authors read various selections from the book and answer questions from the audience.
