I think I want some of what you're having!  You are thinking way too deeply...

So the song is not about WWII and the potential guilt accumulated by the future generations?

El Nino?!  You ain't nothing there, pal!  You should meet the guy goin' around all of Europe!

But, as to your question, to which side...'Stateside' is always better, but that's only if you're a homesick American!
Well I must say, you sure are sounding pretty American here! Like a New Yorker or something, lol.

A New Yorker?!   Oh, no!

Just a homesick American jammin' out to The Misfits.... (and there is no appropriate emoticon for that... )

On the contrary, I meant what I posted there.  And that area of Germany , that is mentioned, hits even harder.  That is where my children's forefathers tried to save their lives and the lives of their children, instead of the Britiish.  Westphalia.

BÖC - "Career of Evil", "Subhuman"

Could you give a few of the more well-known songs from that album?  Cheers!

My faves off of Secret Treaties were always "Astronomy", "Flaming Telepaths", "ME-262" and "Harvester Of Eyes".

Love the cover art, with the ME-262 emblazoned with the Kronos logo,  and the cryptic liner notes.  Good stuff.

If you would have justice in this world, then begin to see that a human being is not a means to some end.  People are not commodities.  When human beings are just to one another government becomes obsolete and real freedom is born; SPIRITUAL ANARCHY.

Thanks!

Strange, though...I got 'The Best of Blue Oyster Cult'.  I don't remember exactly which albums I've got stored away back home, so I tried to get my BOC fix with buying' the best of' CD.  Ok, so I cheated a bit and I guess, you get what you pay for.  The only songs you guys have mentioned that are on this CD are 'Flaming Telepaths' and 'Astronomy'.

And I'm gonna put it on right now...

Secret Treaties is definitely worth investing in! It's good from start to finish.

I have the LP, complete with the cool inner sleeve; it's the original 1974 Columbia release.
I think I paid $3 for it at a used record store. It's in excellent condition.

Wow!  Nice!!

For all the vinyl I've got in my stash, I suppose I'll have to invest in a turntable, too...

I've been listening to this 'Best of Blue Oyster Cult' CD and reading the insert.  Lots of info about how the band came to be in NY and their history.  There sure are a lot of German surnames that keep popping up...

Anyone know more about their history than  what I'm finding?  Yeah, I could do some research on my own, but it's more fun to talk about it here, right?

RTP?  Frod?  (I mean, El Nino)

Good bunch of tunes, btw, on this CD, but there is a whole lot missing from entire albums.
