Ann, your posting doesn't surprise me. You are just the latest victim of Cheryl's. There is always one or two adults who carry the "message" when a group "graduates." But then the real "reality" sets in. Usually, takes a few months.
Why would you encourage teenagers to get married? Do they have jobs? Can they support themselves? They aren't even adults yet. Second, why would you volunteer to cook for the Whitmore, and not get paid? They were raking in $2 million a year. Or was it that your services paid your daughter's tuition? And as far as "getting it," well, let me tell you what the kids didn't get -- one-on-one therapy, group therapy, education, three meals a day, beds with sheets changed regularly, etc. What they got was verbal and physical abuse and an attempt at brainwashing by a woman who is addicted to various drugs, many taken from the kids sent there. The Sudweeks lied to line their pockets with that well-know green stuff. Just one great big scam. So maybe you better open your eyes, the only good thing about Cheryl is that she finally got caught and will have to answer toa judicial system that is set up to protect us all. Laws are made for a reason, and Mark and Cheryl Sudweeks are not above them and will be held accountable. There were several things that I observed and heard that no child deserves, especially a troubled child. So "getting it," let's see if Cheryl "gets it," when we see her in a court of law.
