And What is CYS?"

Like, ferinstance, asphyxiation due to improper and unwarranted restraint, death due to medical neglect or extreme exhaustion and dehydration and other causes.

I'm not being expansive here. These things happen. They're documented. If anybody wants to rant about it, rant to the various coroners who have laid those charges, not me.

CYS is Children and Youth Services. I meant it generically, as CPS = Child Protective Services.

My name is not Karen. I don't know the person Karen that you are referring to, but I have seen the posts talking about her. I don't even live in her state. I also didn't know they allowed 18 year olds to be scout "leaders". You just graduated high school. Do you mean you were an assistant leader?

As a youth I was a Senior Patrol Leader, which is the highest leadership position for youth. I was responsible for the trainning, leadership, and camp outs. I was also responsible for the safty and well being of the scouts as well as makeing sure they had fun. Now I am an Assistant Scout Master, who is still considered a leader, but not "The leader" You know?

If this is referring to Karen, you missed the mark a little bit.  I wish I were "unemployed" like she is! Her company relocated, she got a great severance and is being paid for not working.

So OL, what would the BSA, or your community college in Georgia, or the military think of your posts? Youve got an anger management problem and people are frightened by that. It's not surprising that programs tell you to get lost. You come across as a flake and have no credibility. I wouldnt want someone like you watching out for the safety of my kids on a camping trip. If no one has ever gooten hurt on one for your trips it's just by chance.

I know for a fact my BSA scoutmaster would find it amusing and something I would say. The guys at north geogria most likely would not care because they would realise its a question and has nothing to do with the way I feel.[ This Message was edited by: OverLordd on 2005-08-23 16:01 ][ This Message was edited by: OverLordd on 2005-08-23 19:02 ]

How can you be a current assistant scout master when you are away at college? College started last week. Are you an assistant scout master in the same town as your college or something?

Guess no one's going to answer your question OL.
I surely wouldn't want to physically hurt anyone. But I'd sure like to see a bunch of parents take the GROUP OF LEADERS of the "BRAT CAMP" on ABC out on a wilderness "retreat" and just see how well THEY would hold up to the SAME treatment they dished out to those poor kids! Have those LEADERS do a bit of "therapy" where they have to discuss their own deeply-held secrets on public TV. Be scared to death, and call it "finding yourself." Bet a few of THEM would cry like babies too. NOW THAT MIGHT BE FUN!

No criminal record, no drugs, stuff like that.

There is other trainning you are recomended to take, a load of it infact, I will be taking it as soon as I can.

Two that come to mind off the top of my head is
Climb on safey trainning
Safe swim trainning

Climbing and swimming.
