MMS transformation or coercion
The time frame for each girl?s treatment varies according to the individual, with the minimum length of stay approximately 18 to 22 months. Generally, during the first eight months, the student will identify her negative and self-defeating behaviors and express to the group and to her family her decision to give up those behaviors. During months 9-16, she will begin to demonstrate positive changes in her behavior by implementing problem-solving strategies and applying new dynamics in her life. In the final six to eight months, most girls will have begun to complete their journey toward a new identity through contribution to the well-being of others and the setting of goals consistent with the new identity. At this point, students are ready to reenter their family and community and to lead happy, productive lives. The School furnishes each departing student with a plan for continuing therapy as needed, and continues to follow her progress by telephone for up to three months.
