looking for answers to parental rights and WWASP

I have a question. I think I read on here a while back that when a kid goes to a WWASP program, the parents have to sign away their parental rights basically when their kid goes there. This girl told me thats only partially true. They sign over the right so that if an injury happens a kid can get help immediatly but that the parents can have their rights back anytime thay want. Is this true? If not is there more accurate information anyone can give me on this subject?

You can never "sign away" your rights.  No matter wht type of document was signed, the parent has full parental rights in regard to the child.

This means the parent can go to the facility at any time, unannounced, and pull the child out.  Of that there is no doubt.

I think you technically loose all your rights when you loose all communication with the outside world. Nothing scarier than watching a staff beat a kid bloody and know you cant even make any kind of report of abuse. Anyway, off topic but just wanted to say that.

Well ... what does it mean when a program is referred to as the "custodial agent" and the parent is the "sponsor"?

What it means is the parent is agreeing to give the program "custodial" rights in accordance to the terms and conditions of the enrollment contract.
