In response to comments made by Stutman urging medical marijuana activists to work through the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to get marijuana approved for medical use -- an approach that the DEA and FDA have both blocked -- Kampia responds: "The FDA was not created by God. The FDA was given to us by Congress in the beginning of the 20th century, and the FDA makes mistakes. More importantly, Congress makes mistakes. Congress actually declared in 1970 that marijuana has no medical value. When Congress did that in 1970 under the Nixon administration, it was a political decision. It wasn't a bunch of doctors hanging out in Congress making this decision. It was politicians making the decision, creating a system that's causing the problems today. Congress made a political decision. Our solution is political. We're passing initiatives."

In response, Stutman conceded: "I support -- not only support but applaud Rob's right to do what he's doing. And I support his right. He's doing it the right way. Anyone who argues with the way he's doing it is foolish."

A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another; shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement
