HOW LONG WAS THE FT. LAUD. SEED ACTIVE?
« on: September 15, 2002, 02:44:00 AM »
Thanks to those who offered comments on the cost of the Seed per kid -- fees and donations.  It was very helpful.

My question now is:  Exactly what year did the Ft. Lauderdale Seed first begin operations? And when did its popularity begin to fade? In the late 70s, early 80s?  500+ kids were in the program at any one time in the 70s.  How many kids were in the program in the 80s and 90s? (As you may know, the corporation was officially dissolved in October, 2001.)

Thanks for your help.

I think it opened in `70. I went into Straight in the fall of `80, so I guess was in some deep shit about then. I know the St. Pete program shut down around `74 or so, didn't it?

In anwser to Antigen,Almost positive St Pete closed October of 75. I was an oldcommer, and i took a sat night meeting off.I received a phone call stating the program had closed, and i was "graduated". I was so relieved!! I was told that  Art simply showed up at the meeting with his entourage and stated st pete was shutting down.
