For those who have asked why Izzy would tell someone she was providing a private home number - not usually provided - when it is in fact the home & business number of Mz Sue Scheff, also known as: Parents Universal Resource Experts ( P.U.R.E. ) I expect the answer is her sales training. She probably learned to do this is her life skills coaching seminar.
This is a common sales tactic. You want to make the mark feel special in some way. Favored above others and privileged. You want them to feel they are receiving superior service, not available to the average Joe. This helps foster the belief they are being offered the best deal possible; and also, it creates a feeling of appreciation and friendliness with the sales person; so the mark is less likely to feel comfortable saying No.
You've all experienced it. Goes something like: I can't offer this great deal to most customers, but b/c we are needing to move excess inventory ( or your good credit; or your good looks; or your cute kids; or your poodle dog, what ever. . .) I can let you have this, today only, for 10% off the sticker (which has been marked up 200%)
Or:
I'll have to ask my supervisor. . .
OK! Your in luck! We can't go that low, but we can let you have free floor mats! ( standard equipment) Wow! Aint that great! He must really like you folks! He never does that for anyone!
You get the idea.
I expect Izzy was attempting to foster a feeling of friendship in this person; to have her feel she was getting special treatment (when in fact she is just being managed, like any other mark who happens to call) in the hope she will feel grateful (like a good program parent) and so write Izzy glowing letters of recommendation; and of corse contribute to the running of her many "charitable" efforts; and maybe even spring for some very costly life coaching.
Just my opinion, folks. I haven't actually asked Izzy about this.
And speaking of coaching. . .
I'll be happy to provide coaching at a great bargain (compared to Izzy's rates) of 20.00 bucks an hour. I can do this, because I have some of spare time and no overhead; and no seminars on coaching (or life skills) I have to try and recoup the cost of. I have no student loans to pay - because I have never paid for any schooling. This means I have no credentials; Nor am I a member of any International Coaching thing.
But I do have absolutely *tons* of life experience - and I have always been a good listener; and people often come to me for advice, sometimes even taking notes. (well, one time, an old friend called with "relationship problems" and took notes) I can tell you the blunt truth, or tell you your wonderful - which ever you prefer. Its up to you to know what you prefer, and to let me know; and no fair blaming me if your wrong. There will be no re-funds. Just fire me off an email - and I'll tell you where to send the cash - then I'll ring you up at your convenience. Oh- I should probably tell you up front - the fee is Not tax deductible. But apparently, neither are donations to CaCa; never mind the coaching fees.
