Aren't residential facilities required to do more than just once a month fire drills during the day?

Provided they acquire a license, not much will change. ORS Regs state:

(c) An institution shall submit proof of compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by the State Fire Marshal, the proper local fire marshal, or state inspector, including a certificate of occupancy if required.*

which are:

Pursuant to Life Safety Code 11-7-.1, all public and private schools must conduct monthly fire drills while in session.
Fire Marshal may have other requirements, but I haven't looked at that.

I've never bothered to post here, though I do stop by and read every once and a while...

I remember back in mid-2004 when I was there, a small fire broke out in the middle of the night in the laundry room of dorm A. I was still awake because I barely slept a wink in those ridiculous 7 months before I was pulled. But yeah, the hallway filled with smoke all the way down to the middle where the common room is and they didn't even bother to wake kids up and just put it out with a fire extinguisher.I went to use the restroom and noticed they had the end doors open to let the smoke out. Fucking hicks.

I'm sure this wasn't reported either.

Wow. I was cleaning out behind the dryer. The whole set up is a giant fire hazard. If nothing else, they are breaking serious electrical and safety codes. The wire running from the breaker panel is crudely laid there. All exposed wire must be run in conduit. And the venting system for the dryers is piss poor. You could have constructed a better one out of tinker toys. It just goes to show you....
