And the game of musical chairs with the staff begins.

How lovely.  Video conferencing.  That way the parents get to further delude themselves into thikning that they're involved in the kid's life.  Sounds like when we earned "talk" in Straight.  A 5 minute chat with your parents and a staff member to tell your parents how much you realized you needed to be there, how sorry you were for all the pain you caused them and what you've learned since being there.  It helps to add how grateful you are too.

This technology will also be beneficial for consultants to see and speak with the clients as they prepare for their post-Ridge Creek placement.

Isn't Ridge Creek where kids are sent if they're not cutting it at HLA?  So the kid goes to HLA, then RC then they need to 'prepare for further placement'??  Shit, even Straight didn't pull that kind of crap.  When exactly do these parents ever parent their own child?

AA is a cult http://www.orange-papers.org/orange-cult.html

The more boring a child is, the more the parents, when showing off the child, receive adulation for being good parents-- because they have a tame child-creature in their house.  ~~  Frank Zappa

I'm wondering if someone can tell us what Jeff Holloway's qualifications are.  His email states that he is a MSW.  Anyone know if he is actually licensed?

Also, do any survivors have any first-hand experience dealing with this man?

HLA does send a lot of kids to RCI.  But, there are also a lot of kids that come to RCI just for a wilderness experience and then go back home.  There are also kids that go to RCI first and then get "refered" to HLA.  My bet is that once HLA folds Buccellato is going to try to keep RCI going as a stand alone wilderness program.

He can try, but this information that I received from an RCI employee suggests that the future of RCI doesn't look so rosy, despite the PR piece linked above.

Once again, rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic did not stop it from sinking.

Please read this staff account below (emphasis added in bold):

Another bit of info - Jeff Holloway took over Mark's position at Ridge Creek. Just about all of the employees have quit and/or are looking for another position. Right now they are down to these employees:

Jeff Holloway - Director
Bill Ingram - wilderness Instructor
Bridgett Abercrombie - counselor degree
Miriah ____ - wilderness instructor
Blake _____ - wilderness instructor
Carrie _____ - (wife of Blake) admissions

Ridge Creek has only 2 students at this time (National Kids - or paying people in other words) The rest of the kids that are there are HLA kids (which HLA gives no compensation to Ridge Creek for HLA kids attending RC) Total kids there right now is 11 - 9 HLA kids and 2 paying national kids.

Basically - not enough staff for proper supervision of students at all times.

Jeff Holloway thnks he is a big shot now - but was told by an ex-employee last week that he had to earn respect not demand it and that he did not know what he was doing and good luck because at that point they were resigning.

Doesn't seem so rosy in this context, does it?

Looks like he qualifies for Director:
The staff member with primary responsibility for planning, developing, implementing treatment services, supervising staff who deliver the treatment and ancillary services, and developing in-service training shall have a master's degree in psychology, social work, education or other related fields and experience and/or training in working with children in an outdoor therapeutic environment.

Provided he also has 3 years of "increasingly responsible experience in the human service, mental health or health care field."

I think Jeff's head is so far up his ass, he refueses to admit what is going on... They wanted Jeff to be the director of Mountian Brooke Academy, but when that folded, I guess jeff just had to try something else.

I have a wonderful group of staff that are also excited about the enhancements who are also ready for the upcoming busy season.

Right Jeff, that season is just around the bend.
